The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival is organized by the Vietnam Musicians Association in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports , Ho Chi Minh City Television, and the Ho Chi Minh City Music Association, from October 29 to November 2, at the Southern Army Theater and Ho Chi Minh City Theater.

According to the Vietnam Musicians Association, this is a festival for musicians and music lovers, aiming to honor and promote new musical works and projects, continuing to encourage creative exploration in the fields of composition, performance and music training. The festival is also an opportunity to meet, exchange and interact in music between domestic and international composers and performing artists, meeting the increasing demand for art enjoyment of the public.
The 2025 National Expanded Music Festival includes two areas: Music Works Festival; Vietnamese Voice Festival and Instrument Solo (performance festival).
The works and performances participating in the festival have themes about the Party, Uncle Ho, the current construction and protection of our Fatherland; love for the homeland, country, traditional Vietnamese culture and in the era of national growth; culture and international friendship.
These works must also be newly composed in 2024 and 2025 by members of the Vietnam Musicians Association from branches and musician groups nationwide, and have not participated in any competitions of central organizations, departments, or branches. The genres of works participating in the festival include songs, ensembles, and solo instruments.
For the festival of performances by singers and artists: The genre of the performance participating in the festival is a song or a solo musical instrument. The work performed in the festival is a Vietnamese work chosen by the singer or artist with high technical content. Artists participating in the festival are members or non-members of the Vietnam Musicians Association and are selected by the association to be introduced to participate.
The festival has more than 600 musicians and artists from 38 Vietnam Musicians Associations in provinces and cities across the country participating, with more than 185 performances. Notably, this time there are many famous artists and singers participating such as: Meritorious Artist To Nga, Meritorious Artist Tien Lam, Meritorious Artist Que Thuong, Meritorious Artist Thanh Nhan, Meritorious Artist Y Joel K'nul, Meritorious Artist A Duh - A Xin; Meritorious Artist Thanh Huong, Meritorious Artist Hong Tam; singers Tung Duong, Hoang Nghiep, Tran Hong Nhung, Dieu Thao, Hien Xuan, Nhat Huyen, Ho Khanh, Quoc Tri, Pham Khanh Ngoc, Trang Nhung, Dieu Hien, Y Moan H'Mok, Duy Tung; Soloists: Nguyen Hung Tam (guitar), Yagaria (band player), Man Ba Dat (guitar), Hoang Thanh Tu (zither), Nguyen Duy Thinh (mono), Tran Hoang Oanh (moon lute), Luong Viet Hung (Mong flute), Pham Khanh Toan (oboi), Tran Thu Hien (piano), Nguyen Cong Minh (flute); music groups: Sol Viet, Black Eyes, dance group...
This festival is also a forum for exchange, discussion and performance of new musical compositions by Vietnamese and Chinese musicians, singers and artists. The Vietnam Musicians Association has coordinated with the Guangxi Academy of Arts (China) to compose, stage and perform the music program "Vietnam - China Friendship Symphony" in the closing night (scheduled to take place on the evening of November 2) at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater.
The program introduces many works composed by Vietnamese and Chinese musicians, in 4 chapters: "The River - the source of historical friendship", "The friendship between brothers and comrades", "National culture of Vietnam - China", "Vietnam - China friendship".
