The Ministry of Health has issued a document requesting verification of information reported by the press about the chaotic situation of health examinations for going abroad at Hanoi National University Hospital and Transport Hospital.

Information from the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management said that Official Dispatch No. 1809/KCB-PHCN&GĐ was sent to Hanoi National University Hospital under Hanoi National University and Transport Hospital to urgently verify information in the press.

Previously, the press reported that the two hospitals mentioned above had chaotic health check-ups for going abroad, specifically, patients had no receipts and paid into their personal accounts.

Faced with this situation, the document signed and issued by the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment requested the Director of Hanoi National University Hospital and the Director of the Transport Hospital to urgently verify the information; at the same time, inspect and verify all related incidents and strictly handle violations (if any).

The two hospitals need to urgently review and inspect health examination activities in general and health examination activities involving foreign elements in particular at the facility.

On the other hand, strengthen the management of health examination and issuance of health certificates of the unit according to relevant legal documents and instructions and guidance documents of competent authorities.

Also in this document, the Department of Medical Examination and Treatment Management requires the Director of Hanoi National University Hospital and the Director of Transport Hospital to be legally responsible for the examination and issuance of health certificates of the facility. At the same time, report to the direct management agency and report to the Ministry of Health on the progress and results of the inspection and verification before November 18, 2024.

Previously, the Ministry of Health sent a document to the Department of Health of 63 provinces and cities; hospitals and institutes under the Ministry of Health; hospitals under universities; and health ministries and sectors regarding guidance on documents related to health examination work.

The Ministry of Health has issued a decision to abolish 12 administrative procedures, including procedures for issuing health certificates for drivers and periodic health examinations for car drivers.

However, the abolition of this administrative procedure does not mean that from now on, when taking a driving test, there is no need for a health check as some people mistakenly believe.
