Speed up the implementation of the Mai Waterfall - Bau Nuoc Soi Ecotourism and Resort Project

This is one of the key tourism projects of the province, aiming to exploit the potential of the natural ecological environment, create jobs for local workers, develop the socio -economy associated with strengthening forest management and protection, towards sustainable forest development that needs to be implemented soon.

Review implementation work

According to statistics of Dinh Quan Commune People's Committee, in recent times, the implementation of the Ecotourism , Resort and Entertainment Investment Project in the forest environment rental area under Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board has been closely coordinated by the locality and the forest management unit. Thereby, the locality has reviewed the procedures and bases for implementation according to the provisions of law; carried out the relocation of households from the commercial and service planning land area to implement the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project for the period 2021-2030; the management and promotion of the value of relics, history, culture, scenic spots, cultural works, etc.

However, during the process of reviewing and supporting relocation, households living in the planning area still did not reach consensus, affecting the progress of the project implementation.

Sharing about the local ecotourism project, Provincial Party Committee member, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Dinh Quan commune Nguyen Cao Cuong said: The implementation of the project still faces many difficulties, typically the policy of relocating households out of the project planning area. To implement the project on schedule, the locality as well as departments and branches need to quickly carry out site clearance work, support people to relocate to soon have clean land. At the same time, thoroughly handle the remaining issues to speed up the project implementation progress. The locality hopes that the provincial leaders will pay attention and direct the quick implementation of the project, contributing to the local socio-economic development.

Implementing the Ecotourism, Resort and Entertainment Project for the period 2021-2030, Tan Phu Protective Forest Management Board has signed a forest environment lease contract with 10 tourist spots in Dinh Quan commune, with an area of over 417 hectares. Up to now, forest owners and forest environment lessees are carrying out the following procedures related to planning adjustments and supplements; support for site clearance, relocation of households, etc.

Speed up project implementation

Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vu Xuan Truong shared: After the merger of the two provinces of Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, Dong Nai tourism industry is redefining tourism planning and evaluating tourism strengths. Through working with a number of consulting units, it is determined that Dong Nai tourism's strength is forest ecotourism with high biodiversity values. Dong Nai has good forest conservation results, highly appreciated by scientists and international tourists. For projects with land for environmental lease, it is necessary to clearly identify the real potential, have a long-term development plan, especially the legality must be ensured, creating conditions for both investors and forest owners. The ecotourism project is in the process of adjusting the planning, therefore, it is necessary to continue completing the procedures when implementing the next steps.

Head of Dong Nai Forest Protection Department Ngo Van Vinh said: For natural forest land, it is recommended to implement the project in the direction of converting forest use purposes. Regarding the resettlement support plan, according to the provisions of the Land Law, the subject is not subject to land recovery. Through the implementation of a number of projects, for areas such as mangrove forests in Long Thanh, when implementing the Phuoc An Port Project or a number of projects related to highways, there have been a number of cases where the contract must be implemented according to the approved plan when implementing the payment policy for the supported people. In any case, if they do not accept, the compensation amount must be kept at the bank. When implementing the project, if they do not relocate, they must be forced to handle it.

According to Mr. Ngo Van Vinh, the forest owner needs to change the purpose of using forest land to another purpose. The Department of Agriculture and Environment will provide specific instructions to adjust the purpose of using forest land to another purpose related to the planned forest land to be implemented...

At the working session with departments, branches and localities on the project implementation in the past time, comrade Le Truong Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, commented: The Thac Mai - Bau Nuoc Soi area is planned to develop the Ecotourism Project. Therefore, the locality needs to quickly implement the necessary procedures to continue implementing the project, promoting the full potential and strengths of the locality.

The Tourism Development Project in Dinh Quan Commune, if there are potential investors, will have the capacity to create highlights, attract tourists, and create a premise for neighboring areas of Dinh Quan to develop the service and tourism sectors.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Truong Son requested the locality to urgently promote and implement projects in accordance with strict procedures, and forest owners to carefully review contracts to ensure they are signed in accordance with the law. At the same time, it is necessary to prepare to build a story about the destination to attract investment and exploit tourism products.
