For about a week now, a cold front has swept through Ha Tinh , bringing chilly weather and the first signs of winter to the area. Anticipating the demand for warming and health-protecting equipment, many electronics stores have imported a diverse range of products to meet the increased demand during this period.
At the Mediamart store in Ha Tinh (Tran Phu Street, Thanh Sen Ward), items such as dryers, heaters, and dehumidifiers are on display in various price segments, ranging from a few million to tens of millions of VND. For about two weeks now, the number of customers visiting and shopping at the store has increased 5-7 times compared to normal days and 2-3 times compared to the same period last year.
Mr. Vo Chi Dai – CEO of Mediamart Ha Tinh shared: “Since the beginning of October, when the weather started to get chilly, our store has proactively imported many winter products to provide customers with an early experience. Currently, people are very interested in health care products such as heaters, dehumidifiers, clothes dryers… Besides diversifying the supply, Mediamart also applies many promotional programs with discounts from 30-50%, giving away additional products such as induction cookers, hot pot cookers, air fryers… or supporting 0% installment payments.”
Many electronics store owners say that this year's winter products offer a wide variety of options across different price segments, allowing customers to choose freely based on their needs and budget. “Customers can find dryers from many suppliers such as Panasonic, Toshiba, Aqua, Samsung, etc. Besides that, they can choose based on features: heat pump dryers offer energy savings and optimal clothing protection; vented dryers are mid-range in price, ranging from 5-7 million VND…” – said Ms. Hoang Thi Hoa, a sales employee at Hong Ha Trading Joint Stock Company (Tran Phu Street, Thanh Sen Ward).
Besides electronics, the winter clothing market has also started to become vibrant in recent days. Ms. Truong Thi Hoai – Manager of Tokyolife Ha Tinh shared: “This year, the weather turned cold early and suddenly, so the number of customers interested in winter products has increased rapidly in the last two weeks. Currently, our store has proactively displayed thermal shirts, down jackets, sweaters… In addition, sports shoes, warm scarves, accessories, and moisturizing cosmetics for winter have also been updated with a variety of products at stable prices.”
According to fashion store owners in Ha Tinh province, because the weather is just beginning to turn to winter, customers are still prioritizing autumn/winter products with moderately thick materials that ensure warmth; popular and safe fabrics such as fleece, cotton, and bamboo... To "get ahead" of the winter market, many stores are also quickly updating "hot trend" fashion items and new, easy-to-match products to stimulate consumer demand.
Besides thermal fashion products and specialized winter electronics, the market for bedding is also entering its peak season with a surge in customer numbers. Ms. Le Thi My, an employee at Vua Nem store (Hai Thuong Lan Ong Street, Thanh Sen Ward), said: “Currently, our store is selling a wide variety of bedding products such as velvet winter blankets, rabbit fur winter blankets, mink fur winter blankets… Products are discounted from 20-40%, with many price ranges from 1-7 million VND, so customers can freely choose according to their needs.”
According to Ms. My, winter bedding products such as blankets, sheets, pillows, and mattresses are currently produced using various materials such as cotton satin, wool, brocade, lyocell, modal, etc., from many brands such as Everon, Faith, Hanvico, Amando, Arena, Goodnight… “Many customers choose winter products not simply for warmth and insulation, but also consider brand and material factors to protect their health, improve their quality of life, and enhance the aesthetics of their bedroom,” Ms. My said.
While choosing winter warming products, Ms. Nguyen Tran Hanh (Tran Phu ward) shared: “My family has young children, so equipping ourselves with warming products is essential. This year, the weather has suddenly turned cold, with many rainy days, so in addition to warm clothes, I plan to buy a clothes dryer for convenience during the winter.”
Not only are many retailers proactively securing supplies to "anticipate" the winter season, but they are also quickly implementing attractive promotions and gift programs to stimulate shopping. This is not only an opportunity for people to choose necessary products at good prices, but also a strategy to help retailers stimulate consumer demand and increase sales in the final months of the year.
