According to the latest report from Quang Binh province, as of 6:00 AM on October 28th, the province experienced heavy rainfall, with some areas receiving over 500mm. The heavy rain caused river levels to rise rapidly, submerging more than 15,000 houses.

Le Thuy district was the most severely affected area with 10,636 houses submerged, followed by Quang Ninh district with over 4,000 houses and Dong Hoi city with 370 houses deeply submerged in floodwaters.

In addition, the floods submerged 374 hectares of crops and vegetables, and damaged 100 hectares of fish and rice farming areas.

To respond to the flooding, local authorities in Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, and Bo Trach districts have relocated more than 150 households with nearly 600 people to safe areas. In addition, in low-lying communes and towns, households have voluntarily evacuated from low-lying houses to sturdy, multi-story buildings.

Currently, many culverts on National Highways 9B, 9C, and 15 are deeply flooded, with some areas submerged by over 1 meter. In addition, there are some localized flooding points that make it impossible for vehicles to pass through.

The units have deployed personnel to stand guard and warn people to avoid passing through dangerous areas.

The heavy rains and floods also caused landslides in several areas, such as the coastal area of ​​Thanh Xuan village, Thanh Trach commune, stretching for about 1.5km and reaching a depth of 2-3m.

At Km77+580, National Highway 9B experienced a landslide on the embankment, approximately 15 meters long. The management unit has erected barriers to ensure traffic flow and is continuing to monitor the situation for further action.

Currently, Quang Binh province is directing local units to mobilize on-site forces to promptly evacuate and rescue people in flooded and isolated areas, aiming to minimize damage to people and property caused by floods.
