Faced with the complex situation of drought and saltwater intrusion affecting people's lives, especially the lack of clean water for daily use, on April 18th, officers and soldiers of the Soc Trang Provincial Police, in coordination with the Tran De District Police and the Trung Binh Commune Police (Tran De District), provided drinking water and clean water for daily use to people in Mo O Hamlet, Trung Binh Commune, Tran De District.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Huy, Head of the Front Committee of Mo O Hamlet, Tran De District, Soc Trang Province, said: "Currently, over 170 households in the locality have been lacking drinking water and clean water for many days. In the past few days, people had to go to other places to get water for use. Now that they have clean drinking water and clean water for daily use, the people are very happy."

Lieutenant Lam Van Thanh, from the Youth Committee of the Soc Trang Provincial Police, informed: "Today, we provided the people with 200 containers of 21-liter drinking water and 100 packs of bottled water, along with nearly 20 cubic meters of water for daily use. In the coming days, we will continue to support the people, ensuring they do not lack water."
Ms. Lam Thi Hoa (54 years old) shared: "The people here have been without water for a whole month now, without any water to use, it's so hard. We have to go to other places to get water, but we don't get much, so we have to use it sparingly. Many families in the hamlet lack water, limiting bathing and washing. Now that we're receiving free water, the people are so happy. Thank you very much to the police officers."
Earlier, on the night of April 14, 2024, police officers in Soc Trang distributed 150 cases of 21-liter bottled water and 150 packs of bottled water to people affected by drought and saltwater intrusion in Nam Chanh hamlet, Lich Hoi Thuong commune (Tran De district, Soc Trang province).
