On the afternoon of November 17, the Defense Command of Region 5 - Ayun Pa ( Gia Lai province) said that since November 15, prolonged heavy rain has caused the water level in many rivers and streams in the area to rise, posing a potential danger to people.
In Nu village, Uar commune, the flooding situation is complicated, 49 households with 238 people are affected. The authorities have proactively evacuated 200 people to Nguyen Du High School to ensure safety. However, many areas are still isolated due to strong water flow, making it difficult to access and provide relief.
Notably, at Uar stream (Ia Zip village, Uar commune), 3 people working in the fields (including Mr. Vu Dinh Duyen, born in 1975, Nguyen Duc Trong, born in 2007 and Ksor Tinh, born in 2010) were isolated by floodwaters for many hours.

Uar commune requested the Defense Command of Region 5 - Ayun Pa for support. Immediately after receiving the information, Colonel Tran The Tung, Commander of the unit, reported to the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command and deployed rescue forces.
At 10:00 a.m. on November 17, the Defense Command of Area 5 - Ayun Pa deployed 3 cars, 1 motorboat and 12 officers. At the same time, the Military Command of Uar commune also mobilized 14 local militiamen to urgently deploy a plan to rescue the people.
The rescue team quickly maneuvered canoes and motorboats through the floodwaters to reach the isolated location. By 12 noon, the first three isolated people were safely brought to the Uar Commune Military Command.
During the search, the armed forces discovered seven more people trapped in the field. By 1 p.m. the same day, all seven people were rescued and brought to safety, in stable health.
