Reasons why you should switch your iPhone to black and white mode.

The Accessibility section of the iPhone contains many features that assist users, especially those who need special support to use the device in their daily lives. One of these is the ability to turn off the color filter, switching the phone screen to a black and white (grayscale) display for people with color blindness. This change makes it easier for them to read text and reduces distractions from color.

Monochrome screens reduce eye strain and fatigue during prolonged use and improve concentration.

However, there are no limitations on using iPhone Accessibility, so people who are not colorblind can still use Grayscale because of the lesser-known benefits this mode offers. While black and white mode might make the screen look dull and monotonous by "washing away" all the bright and eye-catching elements, it is effective in preventing distractions when looking at the screen.

Accordingly, monochrome screens are effective in reducing distractions and preventing distractions caused by color. Programmers always design notifications as bright red dots in the corner of applications to attract users' attention and encourage them to tap to view new content, because they understand that color plays an important role in attracting attention. This will no longer have an impact when the screen is only black and white; even intentionally looking for a reason to look at the phone becomes more difficult.

This boredom and monotony contribute positively to reducing the appeal of phones and social media to users, helping them spend less time looking at these devices and focus on other tasks or what is truly important when they need to connect and communicate.

Black and white screens also offer health benefits by reducing eye strain and fatigue during prolonged use. The gray tones of the screen reduce contrast and visual stimulation to the eyes – effects that can lead to headaches if users look at the screen for too long.

To activate monochrome mode on an iPhone, users should go to Settings in this order: Settings -> Accessibility -> Display & Text Size -> Color Filters -> toggle the switch to On (grayscale) . At this point, the phone will no longer display color. At the bottom of the interface, a slider will appear to adjust the intensity of the grayscale; dragging it all the way to the right maximizes brightness, while dragging it to the left decreases brightness and adds other colors.

To revert the display to its original state, users simply need to slide the Color Filter toggle switch to Off (gray).

Accessibility features are also available on smartphones using Google's Android operating system, also serving the purpose of assisting people with disabilities or difficulties in behavior and communication. However, the settings and customizations may differ from those on iPhones and vary between devices from different manufacturers.
