Sewing and wearing Hue ao dai on the list of national intangible cultural heritage

On August 12, the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province announced that the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism has just signed a decision to announce the list of national intangible cultural heritage for the knowledge of sewing and wearing Hue ao dai.

Hue Ao Dai sewing and wearing knowledge is recognized as national intangible cultural heritage from August 9, 2024.

Specifically, the knowledge of sewing and wearing Hue Ao Dai has just been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritage in the category of folk knowledge. The decision was signed by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung on August 9.

Previously, the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province approved the project "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai", aiming to exploit and promote the position of Hue Ao Dai in tourism development, with a total implementation cost of 535.5 billion VND.

The project aims to honor the cultural beauty of Hue Ao Dai, honor those who have enlightened and developed Ao Dai; at the same time, it aims to exploit and promote the position of Hue Ao Dai in tourism development, building suitable tourism products and services.

In recent times, Thua Thien - Hue province has periodically organized "Hue Community Ao Dai Week" during festivals, especially the Hue Festival; created and managed the brand "Hue - Capital of Ao Dai", forming a tourism product associated with Hue Ao Dai.
