Minho (SHINee) caused a stir with his moment of cheering for former coach Hoang Anh Gia Lai

Recently, a video of Choi Minho (SHINee) enthusiastically cheering for Chungbuk Cheongju Football Club (Korean 2nd division) was widely shared on forums and social networks. This is the football team where Mr. Choi Yun Kyum - Minho's father - is currently the head coach.

Minho’s appearance has energized Chungbuk Cheongju FC fans. On their fan page, the team also posted: “SHINee’s Minho, the son of coach Choi Yun Kyum, was present to cheer on the match with enthusiastic fans.”

In the video, the SHINee member acts as the “conductor”, continuously shouting and cheering for the Chungbuk Cheongju FC players. The male idol’s actions caused a stir, and was praised as “worthy of being a die-hard Arsenal fan”.

Similar to his father, Choi Minho loves sports , has a great love for the Korean national team and Arsenal - "the Gunners of London". Before joining SM Entertainment and debuting with SHINee, the star born in 1991 tried his hand at the king sport.

Many football experts say that Minho has good football skills and a strong competitive spirit. However, he does not have the chance to become a professional player.

“My father told me to leave the house if I continued playing football. I asked him why he was against it. He said frankly that if I was as good as Son Heung Min, he would let me play professionally. In his eyes, I had not reached the desired level,” Choi Minho once shared.

After giving up football, Minho was noticed by SM Entertainment and repeatedly persuaded to join the company. With his efforts, the male idol received the nod from his parents and became a talented singer.

Choi Yun Kyum admitted that at first, people used to call Minho “coach Choi Yun Kyum’s son”. But now, fans have switched to calling him “Choi Minho’s father” after SHINee became famous.

Coach Choi Yun Kyum (1962) is a famous and familiar coach to Vietnamese football fans. From 2012 to 2014, the Korean strategist led Hoang Anh Gia Lai club, Minh Vuong's former teacher.

After that, he returned to Korea to lead Gangwon FC, becoming Xuan Truong's coach when the midfielder went to play in Korea.

After stopping his journey at Gangwon FC, Mr. Choi Yun Kyum continued to move to Jeju United and currently Chungbuk Cheongju.
