Invitation to attend the Vietnam – Senegal Online Business Conference

The Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria respectfully invites businesses to attend the online trade conference between Vietnam and Senegal businesses on November 27, 2024.

In order to strengthen Vietnam-Senegal trade cooperation, the Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria and Senegal plans to coordinate with the Dakar Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture (Senegal) to organize an online trade conference between businesses of the two countries on the afternoon of Thursday, November 27, 2024.

Senegal is a West African country with a stable political situation, open trade policies, and the Dakar seaport, which is a transit point for goods for landlocked countries in the sub-region. Due to the constant threat of drought, Senegal's food production only meets about 20% of domestic demand. Each year, the country still has to import from 800,000 to 1 million tons of rice, of which more than 90% is broken rice. This is also a country that supplies a number of important input materials such as raw cashew nuts, cotton, animal feed, and seafood.

Trade exchange between Vietnam and Senegal reached 107.46 million USD, up 52.4% compared to 2022

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, in 2023, trade between Vietnam and Senegal reached 107.46 million USD, an increase of 52.4% compared to 2022, of which our country's export turnover to this market reached 37.8 million USD, mainly agricultural products and food. In the first 9 months of 2024, Vietnam's export value to Senegal reached 26.5 million USD, including pepper (turnover of 9.5 million USD), vegetables and fruits (3.34 million USD), rice (1.24 million USD), confectionery and cereal products (1.6 million USD), seafood (851,074 USD), other goods (9.95 million USD).

Vietnam's import turnover from Senegal in 2023 reached 69.66 million USD, of which raw cashew nuts accounted for 60.77 million USD, animal feed 5.15 million USD, seafood 2.24 million USD, seeds, oil fruits 609,000 USD, cotton 474,000 USD, etc.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Algeria respectfully invites businesses interested in the Senegal market to register to attend the Conference. Information including company name, copy of business registration certificate, address, field of operation, specific import-export needs, participants and send to the Trade Office's email address [email protected]. Registration deadline: No later than Monday, November 20, 2024. The Trade Office will provide the access link and password before the event.
