Tra Vinh University: Aiming for the highest goal
At 8:00 AM on February 27, 2025, the faculty and students of Tra Vinh University arrived in Ho Chi Minh City. The members checked into their hotel, had breakfast, and then rested to prepare for the THACO Cup 2025 Finals.
A representative from Tra Vinh University said that the bus departed around 5 a.m., but many players had arrived much earlier. The night before, many team members were so excited they couldn't sleep.
At 8 a.m., the entire team arrived in Ho Chi Minh City.
The players quickly checked into the hotel arranged by the organizers.
Talking to the players, what impressed the Thanh Niên reporter most was their enthusiasm, innocence, and genuine nature typical of the Mekong Delta region. Not a single person complained, despite the long journey from early morning.
Captain Cao Lu Minh Thuan shared that with only a few days left until the finals begin, the entire team is united in their focus on the highest goal. They arrived here with a relaxed mindset, but their desire to conquer the championship is stronger than ever.
“I still vividly remember the feeling of nervousness and anxiety from last year. That was the first time we reached the finals and were eliminated in the quarterfinals. This year is different; we're more mature, more experienced, and more confident. But that doesn't mean we should be complacent, because as we mature, so do the opposing team. They've also become much stronger and tougher,” captain Minh Thuan shared.

Minh Thuan was one of the biggest contributors to Tra Vinh's journey to secure the only ticket from the Southwest region to the finals. Thuan scored 6 goals, the most in the region. The midfielder from the West revealed that the most important thing was composure. 80 minutes is long enough to wear down the energy of any student player if they don't control their running well.
"Whether it's one or two wins, it's still a win."
Speaking of the Tra Vinh team, besides Minh Thuan, there's also Ha Van Thuan. This young man set a record for scoring the fastest goal in the tournament. As expected, Van Thuan is quick and extremely determined.
"Our first goal is to win the championship, and our second goal is also to win the championship. In terms of physique, I know our team isn't as tall and strong as the other teams, but we make up for it with skill and agility. The important thing is that the whole team is united and giving their all for the common goal," Van Thuan confidently said.

The Tra Vinh players will play the opening match of the finals.
Tra Vinh University's journey to the finals was very convincing, winning all three group stage matches against Vinh Long University of Technology and Education (4-0),FPT University Can Tho (4-1), and Tay Do University (6-0).
In the play-offs, Coach Tram Quoc Nam's team defeated Cuu Long University 1-0 and beat Nam Can Tho University in the final. In the upcoming final round, Tra Vinh University is in Group A along with Ton Duc Thang University, Hue University, and Quy Nhon University.
The Tra Vinh team players will be the first to take to the field to compete against the home team, Ton Duc Thang University, in the opening match of the Finals. The other two teams in this group are Hue University and Quy Nhon University.
