A commune in Ca Mau owes money to many restaurants.

On May 26, Mr. Quach Trung Hieu, Vice Chairman of Khanh Tien Commune People's Committee (U Minh District, Ca Mau Province) signed a report to U Minh District People's Committee on the local budget imbalance.

According to the report, the total debt over the years up to June 20, 2024 is more than 2 billion VND. Of which, there are many debts to food service businesses such as: D.N. restaurant over 39 million VND; SL restaurant over 8 million VND; TX restaurant nearly 4 million VND...

The leaders of the People's Committee of the commune said that these are outstanding debts from many years ago. By May 10, 2025, after saving and proactively balancing, the total remaining budget imbalance is more than 700 million VND. The People's Committee of Khanh Tien commune committed to continue to find sources and reduce spending to pay off the debt as soon as possible.

On the same day, Chairman of the People's Committee of U Minh district, Mr. Huynh Minh Nguyen, said that he had directed communes and towns in the area to review all debts and request to completely handle them before the end of district-level activities to ensure financial discipline and serve the work of arranging administrative units in the coming time.
