MU prepares to explode another 60 million pound 'blockbuster'

Gyokeres is said to be ready to join MU.

The latest financial report shows that Manchester United's total operating expenses have fallen sharply by £41.6 million, to just £162.1 million in the most recent quarter. This is the first positive sign since the British billionaire began his restructuring at Old Trafford.

Notably, this recovery is taking place against the backdrop of Manchester United still burdened with a massive debt of £1.2 billion, largely a legacy left behind by the Glazer era. Nevertheless, tightening the budget has allowed the Manchester club to return to the transfer market strongly.

According to British media, MU can easily complete the Gyokeres deal this summer. The Swedish striker had an explosive season, scoring 54 goals in just 52 matches for Sporting Lisbon. Although his current contract has a release clause of up to 85 million pounds, the owner club is willing to negotiate at a price of around 60 million pounds.

Arsenal are also interested in the former Coventry striker, but they are distracted by another target, Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig. Meanwhile, given their connection from their time managing Sporting, coach Ruben Amorim is reportedly keen to reunite with his former pupil at Old Trafford.
