Heavy rains over the past several days have caused landslides and flooding in Cam Trung and Ky Anh communes, Ha Tinh province, directly affecting people's property and lives.

In Cam Trung commune, Lieutenant Colonel Truong Van Thanh, Head of the Commune Police, said that a landslide occurred in the Ru Rac area (Nam Thanh village) in the early morning of November 3, affecting a number of farms at the foot of the mountain. Authorities immediately blocked off the area, preventing people from entering the danger zone to ensure safety.

According to initial statistics, the landslide area is about 3 hectares wide, including 3 stone processing mines (2 mines are operating) and 5 general production farms. Of which, 3 farms were affected; some auxiliary works collapsed, many properties were damaged. A pickup truck was buried and was towed out of the area by the authorities. Because the landslide is still ongoing, the forces have not been able to access deeply enough to fully assess the damage.

Previously, the Ru Rac area had shown signs of being unsafe. Cam Trung Commune Police proactively checked, arranged staff to regularly monitor and put up warning signs, and guided people to stay away from the risk area. Thanks to early warning and close monitoring of the area, the damage caused by this landslide was significantly reduced.

At the same time, in Ky Anh commune, heavy rain continued to cause the water level of the Rac River canal to rise, overflowing and flowing rapidly into the residential area of ​​Tan Giang village, causing local flooding of some households along the canal. Faced with the rapid rise in water level, Ky Anh Commune Police mobilized forces to coordinate with the Party Committee, authorities and people to build land and reinforce the canal banks, preventing the water from continuing to flow into residential areas. At the same time, they helped to relocate property and bring the elderly and children to highlands to ensure people's safety.

Thanks to the decisive, timely intervention and the spirit of solidarity of the forces and the people, the water flow has been controlled and the flooded area has been brought under control. The commune police continue to closely monitor the area, closely monitor weather developments and prepare response plans to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
