The tourist train last night (October 27) affected thousands of passengers when the railway industry temporarily stopped the Thong Nhat SE1/SE2 and SE3/SE4 trains (North-South Thong Nhat route) departing from Hanoi and Saigon stations, due to the impact of floods in the Central region. Vietnam Railways Corporation (VNR) also announced the temporary suspension of the SE19/SE20 train pair on the Hanoi-Da Nang route.

In particular, rising floodwaters in the Central region have forced the "Heritage Connection" tourism program on trains HD1/2 and HD3/4 (Hue - Da Nang route) to stop operating on October 28 and 29, affecting the travel plans of about 2,700 tourists who have purchased tickets.

This notice from Vietnam Railways Corporation has been sent to passengers via SMS, Zalo, website and official fanpage. Also in the notice, affected passengers can return their tickets free of charge within 30 days from the departure date printed on the ticket.

In Thua Thien Hue , many sections of water are about 70 mm higher than the top of the rails, the deepest section is up to 185 mm. The water level has reached the bottom of the girders of Bach Ho Bridge and Gia Vien Bridge - two key points on the route through the center of Hue city.

It is forecasted that by tomorrow morning, October 29, there will be heavy rain, very heavy rain in Hue city, especially heavy rain in mountainous areas; total rainfall will be 250-500mm, in some places over 700mm. In this situation, the Hue Monuments Conservation Center has announced to stop receiving visitors at all tourist attractions in the Hue Monuments Complex due to heavy rain and rising floodwaters.

Currently, heavy rain has flooded and cut off many roads in the Imperial Citadel, Tu Duc Tomb, Minh Mang Tomb and other relic sites. The Monuments Conservation Center is also actively implementing measures to protect relics, inspect and reinforce structures after the flood. Some other tourist attractions such as Bao Vinh ancient town, ironwood pedestrian bridge and Thanh Toan tile bridge are also deeply flooded, making it difficult to move and visit.

Tourist attractions announced that they will reopen as soon as the weather stabilizes, ensuring safety conditions for visitors and relics./.
