Wanting her husband to lower his age to get a kidney transplant, the wife was scammed out of 250 million VND.

On November 22, the Investigation Police Agency of Hue City Police (Thua Thien - Hue province) announced that the unit has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Hoang Thi Phuong Ngoc (born in 1987, residing at 383 Nguyen Tat Thanh, Thuy Duong ward, Huong Thuy town, Thua Thien - Hue province) and Truong Trong Long (born in 1991, residing in Dat Hieu ward, Buon Ho town, Dak Lak province) for fraud and property appropriation.

According to the investigation of the police agency, in April 2022, Ms. Nguyen Thi L. (born in 1955) took her husband Nguyen Tien C. (born in 1955), also residing in Dong Hoi City ( Quang Binh Province), to Hue Central Hospital for examination and treatment and was informed that he had end-stage renal failure and needed to be hospitalized for dialysis.

During the treatment, Mrs. L. registered for her husband to have a kidney transplant, but because Mr. C. was over the age limit, it could not be done.

After that, through an introduction, Ms. L. contacted Hoang Thi Phuong Ngoc and Truong Trong Long to adjust Mr. C.'s age on the records and documents so that he could have a kidney transplant. Although they were only self-employed and had no ability to do this job, Ngoc and Long still agreed to commit fraud and appropriate Ms. L's property.

Through the agreement, in nearly 01 month, Ms. L. transferred a total of 250 million VND to Hoang Thi Phuong Ngoc and Truong Ngoc Long. However, after waiting for a long time but still not getting the hospital's approval for her husband's kidney transplant, Ms. L. called Ngoc and Long to ask for the money back after many promises.

Fearing that Mrs. L. would file a complaint with the police, Ngoc and Long returned 25 million VND to Mrs. L. The victim then reported the incident to the police.

Receiving the denunciation, Hue City Police investigated and arrested Ngoc and Long. Currently, Hue City Police are continuing to consolidate the case file to strictly handle it in accordance with the law.
