In 2025, employees will have 12 days off, including 11 paid holidays and Tet and 11 days off adjacent to holidays and Tet.
According to Article 112 of the 2019 Labor Code, employees have a total of 11 days off for holidays and Tet and receive full pay.
Specifically: New Year's Day 1 day (January 1); Lunar New Year 5 days; Victory Day 1 day (April 30); International Labor Day 1 day (May 1); National Day 2 days (September 2 and 1 day before or after); Hung King's Commemoration Day 1 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
Specifically, in 2025, the holidays are as follows: For New Year's Day 2025, according to the provisions of the 2019 Labor Law, there will be 1 day off, which is Wednesday (January 1) with full pay.
Lunar New Year 2025 will be off for 9 days. According to the announcement of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs , cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of administrative agencies, public service agencies, political organizations, and socio-political organizations will be off for Lunar New Year 2025 from January 25 to February 2 (December 26 of the year of Giap Thin to January 5 of the year of At Ty).
This holiday includes 5 days of Lunar New Year holiday and 4 days of weekly holiday. In total, Tet At Ty 2025 will be off for 9 consecutive days.
Hung King's Commemoration Day in 2025 falls on Monday (April 7th of the Gregorian calendar), so employees will have 3 consecutive days off, including 1 holiday and 2 weekend days (for agencies and units that implement a fixed schedule of Saturday and Sunday every week).
If a foreign employee works in Vietnam, in addition to the holidays prescribed by this regulation, he/she is also entitled to 1 day off for the traditional New Year and 1 day off for the National Day of his/her country.
For the April 30 and May 1 holidays, this year civil servants and public employees will have their working day swapped from Friday (May 2) to Saturday, April 26.
Thus, on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, 2025, civil servants and public employees will have 5 consecutive days off from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 4 (working on Saturday, April 26 in lieu).
This year, on the occasion of the National Day holiday on September 2, civil servants and public employees will have the holiday from Saturday, August 30 to Tuesday, September 2. This holiday includes 2 days off for the National Day holiday and 2 days off every week.
