Nam Dinh takes advantage of every opportunity to accelerate development

In the first 6 months of 2024, Nam Dinh province rose to rank 5th out of 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta and 11th out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide in terms of economic growth rate. Nam Dinh is striving to take advantage of every opportunity and advantage to become a fairly developed province in the country by 2030.

6-month GRDP growth reached 8.56%

Investment attraction is a bright spot in Nam Dinh 's economic picture. In the first half of 2024, many investors were interested in learning, surveying and investing in the province, the number of investment projects increased 3.4 times and the registered capital increased 5.8 times compared to the same period in 2023.

Most recently, Kam Kiu Aluminum Group, Hong Kong (China) decided to choose Nam Dinh to invest in a factory producing aluminum accessories for electronic devices, smart devices (phones, computer screens, speakers, watches) and auto parts, with a total expected investment of 100 million USD. This is the first project of this enterprise abroad, so they have carefully researched many provinces and cities in Vietnam and decided to invest in My Thuan Industrial Park, Nam Dinh province.

Construction of Dong Cao bridge belongs to the investment project to build a development axis connecting Nam Dinh marine economic zone with Cau Gie - Ninh Binh expressway (phase II).

It can be seen that the investment attraction and promotion work of Nam Dinh province has achieved many positive results. In the first 6 months of the year, the province granted new investment registration certificates and adjusted capital increases for 39 projects (including 20 domestic investment projects and 19 foreign direct investment projects - FDI), with a total registered capital of VND 5,572.8 billion and USD 148.9 million.

In particular, the investment registration certificate for the high-tech packaging paper factory project from recycled waste paper and pulp was granted to GDT Paper Joint Stock Company, with a total investment of VND 2,560 billion (equivalent to more than 100 million USD), at Bao Minh Industrial Park expansion; XIELONG Vietnam garment factory project with a total investment of 40 million USD at Rang Dong Textile Industrial Park...

Not only investment attraction activities, in the first half of 2024, industrial production will flourish and maintain growth momentum from the end of 2023, which is the main driving force for growth. Key state projects, infrastructure of industrial parks and clusters, and factory construction projects of FDI enterprises are being implemented quickly, along with the increasing demand for construction and repair of residential housing, contributing positively to the growth of the province's construction industry...

Comrade Nguyen Van Ty, Director of the Department of Statistics of Nam Dinh province, said that the gross regional domestic product (GRDP) in the first 6 months of 2024 increased by 8.56% over the same period in 2023, ranking 5th out of 11 provinces and cities in the Red River Delta and 11th out of 63 nationwide; in which, the industrial and construction sector plays the role of growth driver with a contribution of 5.11 percentage points...

Prepare the best conditions to welcome investors

2024 is a breakthrough period for Nam Dinh province to complete the goals of the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress and the 5-year socio-economic development plan for 2021-2025. Nam Dinh province plans to set a target of achieving GRDP growth of 9.5% to 10.5% in 2024. This target demonstrates the determination and efforts of the Party Committee, government and people of Nam Dinh province. In the coming time, Nam Dinh will focus on key areas such as: Developing consumer and export industries; developing urban economy and enhancing marine and coastal economic development; promoting tourism.

Nam Dinh also focuses on development foundations such as: Human resources, science and technology, infrastructure, innovation and institutional improvement to create a transparent and favorable investment and business environment. In particular, Nam Dinh encourages partners to invest in industrial parks, green economic sectors, circular economy and environmental protection.

Sharing an overview of the local potentials and advantages, comrade Pham Gia Tuc, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Nam Dinh Provincial Party Committee said: Nam Dinh has an abundant source of young human resources, skilled and highly qualified workers accounting for a large proportion. The province has also focused on preparing the best conditions to supply and serve the needs of investors in production and business development such as traffic infrastructure services, industrial park and cluster infrastructure, water, waste discharge, etc. The province's traffic infrastructure system is gradually completing the highway network, conveniently connecting with key national economic regions, creating many conveniences for people to travel and businesses to transport goods.

In recent times, the province has continued to urge and accelerate the implementation of projects: Construction of the new Nam Dinh-Lac Quan-coastal road (Provincial Road 484); Phase II of the project to build a development axis connecting the Nam Dinh province's marine economic zone with the Cau Gie-Ninh Binh expressway (Provincial Road 490); construction of a bridge over the Day River connecting the two provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh; construction of a bridge over the Dao River; the southern axis of Nam Dinh city (from Vu Huu Loi Street to National Highway 21B); construction of a coastal road through Nam Dinh province...

In particular, the Prime Minister has approved the Provincial Development Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, opening up a new space to attract investment for provincial development.
