Green economic development - digital economy has received great attention from the Party and State; at the same time, it is supported by a legal framework, guided by a national strategy. To keep up with the general trend, universities have gradually innovated their training programs, providing students with core knowledge and skills, meeting the requirements of the modern labor market.

Innovation in training programs

The Green Economy - Digital Economy Workshop recently organized by the Central University of Construction attracted the participation of many experts who are university lecturers, representatives of functional agencies, businesses and students studying at the school. In the discussion session on e-commerce, experts clarified many issues such as an overview of e-commerce in Vietnam and the application of AI in e-commerce, e-commerce payment services, instructions for safe online transactions, etc.

According to MSc. Le Duc Tam, lecturer at the Central University of Construction, e-commerce has become familiar to people in recent years. In particular, the application of AI in this field has contributed to automating and optimizing business processes, creating new business models. To adapt to the general trend, businesses and employees must also proactively change and meet job requirements in the new situation. In recent years, the Central University of Construction has included this content in the curriculum of a number of faculties. Lecturers have been constantly integrating knowledge, adding new subjects on digital economy, digital technology , data management, digital transformation, sustainable economic development, etc. to convey to students.

The school regularly organizes seminars and forums on digital economy and green economy so that lecturers and students have the opportunity to exchange academic knowledge in related fields. The school also connects with technology and green energy enterprises to create research and practice opportunities; links with enterprises and management agencies to create internship and experience opportunities for students. Thereby, it better meets the needs of the labor market, in line with the development trends of the modern economy.

To provide knowledge about digital transformation in modern economic activities, the Banking Academy - Phu Yen Branch also regularly organizes seminars and workshops to introduce new technology software to lecturers and students. The recent seminar on the topic "ESG (Environment - Society - Governance) and sustainable accounting" is a typical example.

Through the program, students are updated with new trends in the industry such as green accounting, sustainable accounting, etc., thereby proactively planning to equip themselves with professional skills, innovative thinking and prepare for future work. Lecturers and students have the opportunity to learn more about ESG applications to promote business development in the green era, green accounting in the trend of sustainable development. At the same time, delegates also experienced ESG practices with sustainable accounting towards developing a circular economy in Vietnam.

Digital economy - one of the key trends of the digital age - is becoming an inseparable part of the global economy. The application of digital technology in business activities, management and transactions is creating fundamental changes in the way businesses and organizations operate.

According to Ms. Dang Thi Bich Triem, Deputy Director of VietinBank Phu Yen, in addition to professional knowledge, employers today are looking for candidates with knowledge and skills in digital technology. Therefore, in recent times, the unit has cooperated with many universities in the province to contribute to training and building a workforce suitable for the job at the enterprise.

In the context of the world entering the era of high technology and artificial intelligence, integrating technological thinking and sustainable thinking for learners is a necessary step for the education system in the green economy. Universities must quickly update and adjust training programs to provide students with core knowledge and skills to meet the requirements of the modern labor market. Students need to be equipped with knowledge of digital technology, circular economy, and practice analytical skills, environmental impact assessment, etc.

Dr. Pham Van Tien, Chairman of the Council of the Central University of Civil Engineering, said: Education is the key to promoting changes in human behavior, thinking and capacity to meet the requirements of the green economy. The vocational training system, colleges and universities are increasingly linked with green production practices and technological innovation. Thus, green transformation cannot lack thorough preparation of human resources, through the synchronous implementation of educational strategies, focusing on skills development, modernizing training programs... This will contribute to demonstrating the role of education in the country's development journey.
