The education sector expects specific mechanisms and policies to implement Resolution No. 71.

Being both a teacher and a National Assembly delegate, teacher Nguyen Thi Ha, a National Assembly delegate of the 15th term from Bac Ninh province, highly appreciated the correct decisions passed by the National Assembly, including the Law on Teachers and the general education program.

On the occasion of the 43rd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers' Day, November 20, in the hallway of the National Assembly , reporters from the News and Ethnicity newspaper had an interview with National Assembly delegate Nguyen Thi Ha to clarify the issues that voters and people are interested in.

Madam, from your teaching practice, what major changes in education have you seen that have impacted students?

I believe that school is a living laboratory for all educational policies. From teaching practice and being a teacher directly in the classroom, I can clearly see even the smallest changes in education such as: Changes in the curriculum, changes in textbooks or the psychology of teachers and students...

From that reality, when I went to the National Assembly, I brought with me the concerns of teachers, the worries of parents as well as the things that students are learning. Those realities are the "material" that helps me research, write speeches for discussion and contribute ideas at the National Assembly forum with persuasiveness.

So, Madam, what decisions has the National Assembly made that left an impression on the delegates?

I see that during this term, the National Assembly has had many breakthrough policies in the field of education, such as: the Law on Teachers, or the Resolution of the National Assembly on specific mechanisms and policies to implement Resolution No. 71-NQ/TW dated August 22, 2025 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in education and training development; or national target programs to improve the quality of education and training... Especially decisions on investment in education and digital transformation in education along with many other projects in the field of education.

I realize that these policies are no longer just on paper, but have gradually entered the reality of social life, reaching every locality and school, for example, policies to support disadvantaged areas, increase allowances for teachers, or expand autonomy for educational institutions. These are also the driving forces for educational development, which are of interest to voters.

As both a teacher and a National Assembly delegate, does participating in long National Assembly meetings affect your teaching work and do you encounter any difficulties, madam?

As both a teacher and a member of the National Assembly, I find that the two jobs complement each other. As a teacher, I have a deep understanding of education, and as a member of the National Assembly, I have a comprehensive view of overall national policy issues.

Therefore, when participating in parliamentary activities, I have gained more practical experience so that my suggestions are both well-founded and profound, ensuring more persuasiveness. As for parliamentary activities, I have flexibly applied them in practical lectures, inspiring students with the spirit of civic responsibility, social responsibility as well as awareness when participating in social life.

Of course, when participating in two roles, I also had certain difficulties, especially in arranging working time. However, I was fortunate to receive support and assistance from the leaders of the National Assembly Delegation, the school board and colleagues, so I was able to scientifically arrange my working time to ensure that whether in the parliament or at the school, I could still make the best direct contribution in all tasks.

How do you evaluate the policies related to the education sector that have been passed by the National Assembly to implement the major policy on human resource development?

I appreciate the efforts of the National Assembly in promulgating comprehensive and strategic policies for education for the sector, especially the first Law on Teachers, which was passed as an important milestone demonstrating the attention of the Party, State and people to teachers, who play a key role in education.

When the bills, resolutions and policies are passed, they create a solid legal framework for educational activities to truly innovate more firmly. I believe that each decision when passed is recognized by the National Assembly. Not only that, it also motivates teachers who directly teach in the classroom to have more strength to contribute, to innovate, to create and to serve the cause of education.

Thank you very much!
