Sports industry speaks out about the 'disappearance' of the President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation

Today (September 4), a sports industry leader said that he had grasped the information that Mr. Luu Tu Bao - President of the Vietnam Boxing Federation (VBF) had returned to the US since the end of February and has not returned to Vietnam yet. However, all activities of VBF are taking place normally, with VBF Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung in charge.

According to the VBF Executive Committee, Mr. Liu Xiu Bao holds dual Vietnamese and American citizenship. At the end of February, he returned to the US to attend to a relative's funeral and then got busy so he has not returned to Vietnam yet. At the beginning of August, Mr. Liu Xiu Bao contacted VBF Vice President and General Secretary Nguyen Duy Hung, asking him to run the work.

The leader of the Vietnam Sports Administration said that Mr. Luu Tu Bao was confirmed by the authorities to be qualified (including personal history and legal documents) to run for election and was elected as the President of VPF for the second term (2023 - 2028). The Sports Administration has requested the VBF Executive Committee to manage general affairs during Mr. Luu Tu Bao's absence.

It is known that tomorrow (September 5), the VBF Executive Committee will meet to resolve and assign work and tasks in the coming time. This includes taking over the work while Mr. Luu Tu Bao is absent.
