Nghe An hopes Japanese businesses will come to survey and invest.

That was the proposal of Vice Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, Mr. Nguyen Van De, at the working session with the delegation of JICA Office (Japan International Cooperation Agency) in Vietnam led by Mr. Koba Yashi Yousuke to visit and work with Nghe An province on October 15.

Within the framework of the medium- and long-term vision on agricultural cooperation between the Government of Vietnam and the Government of Japan, Nghe An province is one of the localities that JICA is interested in, supporting many projects of practical significance, such as: Project to Restore and Upgrade the Northern Nghe An Irrigation System (ending in 2023); Technical Cooperation Project on Nghe An Agricultural Development Planning (ending in 2019); Project to Diversify Livelihoods Based on Heritage Tourism in Agricultural and Fishery Villages (ending in 2018); Project to Restore and Sustainable Management of Protective Forests in Nghe An Province (ending in 2021); The project to survey and verify SDGs business with the private sector to develop the Sanuki garlic value chain in Na Ngoi commune is being effectively implemented.

These projects have made important contributions to agricultural development, resource management, climate change response, improving people's livelihoods and promoting bilateral cooperation between Nghe An and Japan.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van De sent sincere thanks to the Government of Japan, JICA and Mr. Koba Yashi Yousuke personally. for your valuable, effective and persistent support over the years.

Entering the 2026 - 2030 period, Nghe An is determined to continue promoting international cooperation, especially with Japanese partners.

The province hopes that JICA and the JICA Vietnam Office will continue to pay attention to and accompany Nghe An in implementing projects on science and technology, agriculture, and digital transformation.

The provincial leaders also requested JICA to study investment in the Project to Restore and Upgrade the Southern Nghe An Irrigation System; support technology transfer and promote the development of high-tech agriculture, circular agriculture, and low-emission agriculture; support the construction of a modern early warning and disaster management system, and improve the capacity to respond to climate change.

The province proposed that JICA introduce Japanese enterprises to survey and cooperate in investment in Nghe An, especially in agricultural, forestry and fishery processing, supporting industry development and renewable energy; cooperate in digital transformation of the agricultural sector and develop high-quality human resources to serve international integration...

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Koba Yashi Yousuke - Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office thanked the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and Departments for the warm welcome given to the working delegation.

Expressing his impression of experiencing the areas implementing cooperation projects between JICA and Vietnam in general and Nghe An province in particular, Mr. Koba Yashi Yousuke hoped that these projects would contribute to poverty reduction and local economic development.

On this occasion, Mr. Koba Yashi Yousuke also expressed his gratitude for Nghe An province and its sectors' support for JICA in the implementation of projects in the province, especially in supporting volunteers to perform well their tasks in supporting the improvement of Nghe An's specialty products and promoting them to domestic and foreign markets; developing craft villages, tourism and developing agriculture in border areas...
