On the occasion of April 30 and May 1 holidays, the Ministry of Health requests not to refuse or delay the treatment of emergency patients.

On April 22, the Ministry of Health issued a document requesting hospitals under the Ministry of Health and universities; Departments of Health of provinces and centrally run cities; and Health of ministries and branches to ensure medical examination and treatment, and emergency treatment for traffic accidents during the April 30 and May 1 holidays in 2024.

Medical facilities are ready to receive patients during the long holiday of April 30 and May 1.

Accordingly, the Ministry of Health requested the agencies to direct their subordinate units to ensure full on-duty at 4 levels: leadership on-duty, professional on-duty, administrative - logistical on-duty and security - self-defense on-duty. Organize emergency care and medical examination and treatment well, ensure all emergency patients are examined and treated, and do not refuse or delay handling of emergency cases.

The Ministry of Health's official dispatch clearly states, "If the patient is transferred to another medical facility or department, initial emergency treatment must be provided to stabilize the patient and his or her family before being transferred to another medical facility."

Hospitals must proactively assign emergency staff to be on standby outside the hospital, ready and promptly respond to mass accident emergencies, serious traffic accidents, mass disasters, etc. if they occur in the locality.

At the same time, ensure food safety and hygiene, prevent food poisoning, drowning, stampedes... warn of accidents at places with high tourist concentrations.

The Ministry of Health also requires ensuring a 24/7 hotline to be ready to direct, coordinate, support, and respond when necessary. In case of special developments such as disaster emergency, mass accidents, food poisoning, and other special cases, the unit is requested to urgently report to the direct management agency via the hotline, and promptly report in writing about the special developments for timely resolution.
