With the desire to enhance value and bring quality products to consumers, since 2021, Pham Thi Thu business establishment, Binh Gia town, Binh Gia district has started researching and perfecting grape wine products. With its delicious and unique flavor, the product has been known and trusted by many consumers.
Lang Son is one of the northern mountainous provinces with many wild grapes in nature. Wild grapes have thick, juicy skins, and when ripe have a sweet taste, very suitable for making wine. Since ancient times, many families have known how to make wild grapes into wine for family use.
Ms. Pham Thi Thu, the business owner, said: For many generations, my family has known how to ferment grapes with traditional leaf yeast into wine to serve the family's needs. After getting married and moving out, every year I ferment grapes with leaf yeast to use and give to relatives and friends. After enjoying it, many people found it delicious and wanted to buy a lot to use. Therefore, since 2021, I have had the idea of producing grape wine into a commodity product to supply to the market, meeting the needs of customers. Accordingly, in order to meet all the conditions and product standards according to regulations, we have completed the procedures for production and business licenses; conducted sampling for quality inspection of food safety... After meeting all the conditions, in June 2024, the facility self-declared the product according to regulations and officially sold the product under the brand name Madam Thu grape wine to the market.
To have raw materials for wine production, the facility has purchased grapes, mainly wild grapes in Binh Gia district and other districts in the province. From 2023 to present, the facility has purchased an average of about 5 tons of grapes of all kinds each year to make raw materials for wine production. After being purchased, the grapes will be ripened evenly, then washed, separated and crushed to ensure that the grapes ferment evenly and best. In particular, to make the wine have a more characteristic and delicious flavor, the facility uses self-produced leaf yeast to ferment the grapes. After 1 month of fermentation, the wine will be separated from the pulp and fermented in earthenware jars for 6 months before being sold. The fermented grape wine has a sweet taste, the aroma of fermented grapes and an alcohol concentration of about 12%.
Since officially launching the product to the market, the facility has produced and supplied over 2,000 liters of grape wine to the market. Currently, the product is sold at 130,000 VND/liter. For glass bottled wine for gifts, the facility sells it at 150,000 VND/750ml bottle. In addition to selling on social networks, grape wine products are currently also sold in some stores in Thai Nguyen province, Binh Gia town... In addition, from June 2024 to present, the facility has also proactively displayed, introduced and promoted products at many programs and fairs inside and outside the province.
With its delicious taste, grape wine products are trusted by many customers to order to enjoy and give as gifts. The consumption market is in the province and many provinces and cities across the country. Mr. Dao Tien Dung, Thanh Luong ward, Hai Ba Trung district, Hanoi city said: I learned about Madam Thu grape wine, produced in Binh Gia district, Lang Son province when a friend invited me to try it when I visited his house. Although I have drunk many types of wine, this grape wine product has the sweet aroma of grapes combined with yeast, very unique. Since I learned about the product, every month I have ordered a few bottles for my family to use and to invite friends. I plan to order 2 to 3 cases of this grape wine to welcome friends and give to relatives during the upcoming Lunar New Year.
Ms. Hoang Thi Anh, Head of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Binh Gia district, said: Grape wine of Pham Thi Thu business establishment, Binh Gia town is a new product but has a lot of development potential. In the coming time, the unit plans to support the development of Madam Thu grape wine product into an OCOP product (one product per commune) of the district in 2025. Thereby, contributing to building the brand and expanding the product consumption market.
With creativity in researching and perfecting products, Pham Thi Thu business establishment, Binh Gia town has successfully produced and launched to the market grape wine products with distinct flavors, quality and safety. Thereby, contributing to increasing value, creating jobs and increasing income for local people.
