Overview of the workshop

At the workshop, delegates focused on discussing, analyzing, and objectively and multi-dimensionally evaluating issues related to the elderly when using digital technology; the elderly are interested in issues and fields related to the environment, green lifestyle; policies to encourage and support the elderly in economic development and job creation.

Decision No. 379/QD-TTg approving the Project "Elderly people participating in promoting digital transformation, green transformation, entrepreneurship and job creation" focuses on digitalization targets: In the period of 2025 - 2030, strive for 50% of the elderly to be proficient in basic digital skills; by 2035, strive for 70% of the elderly to be proficient in digital skills including online public services, online shopping, self-protection in cyberspace and use of other platforms according to the characteristics of each locality. Therefore, green transformation is one of the important orientations of the Party and State to develop a sustainable economy, adapt to climate change and protect the environment.

With the motto of human health first, green transformation includes the following main contents: developing organic agriculture , circular economy; green energy transformation; promoting green production, building green supply chains, encouraging sustainable consumption; green transport transformation;

The information collected at the workshop will be the basis for the Central Committee of the Elderly Association to develop more appropriate and practical orientations and policies in the coming time.
