Buriram United vs CAHN performance
When mentioning Buriram United, CAHN fans certainly cannot forget the bitter defeat in the second leg of the final of the Southeast Asian C1 Cup last season. The team under coach Mano Polking at that time took a 2-goal lead until the 83rd minute.
Just when everyone was starting to think about celebrating the first international title for the V.League representative, the painful turning point happened. Crispim's miraculous free kick in the 8th minute of injury time helped Buriram United score the 2nd goal in the last 15 minutes, thereby equalizing 2-2 and bringing the match into extra time.
Despite their best efforts, the loss of victory seemed to have significantly affected the spirit of Quang Hai and his teammates in the nerve-wracking penalty shootout. Leaving the Land of the Golden Pagoda with the sadness of missing the championship, Coach Polking and his team are determined to take revenge when returning to this arena this season.
But in the opening match of Group A, CAHN once again fell into a similar situation. Traveling to BG Pathum Stadium, the police team created an overwhelming attacking game and took the lead thanks to a goal by striker Alan in the 20th minute.
However, the sudden slump in play in the second half made CAHN pay a heavy price, allowing home star Chanathip Songkrasin to score a double, including a classy chip over goalkeeper Nguyen Filip, sealing a 2-1 comeback for the Thai representative in the 7th minute of extra time.
Although CAHN regained some spirit thanks to a hard-fought 1-0 victory in the reception of Dynamic Herb Cebu (Philippines) later, the journey to find one of the two tickets to the next round of the tournament still promises to be difficult.
Currently, CAHN is ranked 4th with 3 points, goal difference 0, 1 point behind the two leading opponents Selangor (Malaysia) and BG Pathum. Meanwhile, with 2 draws, Buriram United is ranked just one place below. The defending champion also had a rough start when they were held to a 1-1 draw by Selangor at home, before drawing 2-2 away against fellow countrymen BG Pathum.

In Group A, Buriram United is still rated the highest. The home team at Chang Arena is also maintaining a stable performance in two important arenas. In the Thai League, Buriram United leads after 12 rounds with a record of 10 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss, 6 points ahead of the lower ranked opponent.
Meanwhile, at the AFC Champions League Elite (Asian Cup C1), the team under the direction of coach Mark Jackson also has 7 points after 5 matches, ranking 8/12. If they successfully maintain their current position, the Thai champions will win a ticket to the round of 16.
The most worrying problem for Buriram United is probably the tight schedule. Over the past week, Theerathon Bunmathan and his teammates have had to fight 3 matches. With a frequency of more than 3 days/match before the encounter with CAHN, it will not be easy for the home team to maintain the best physical condition and concentration.
On the opposite side, CAHN is facing difficulties in terms of personnel. In the context that striker Alan is still uncertain to return in time, the Vietnamese representative cannot have the services of Dinh Bac and Minh Phuc because both are busy with the U22 team attending the 33rd SEA Games.
Prediction: 1-1
