That was the speech of Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Do Van Chien at the meeting program to express gratitude to the representatives of relatives of martyrs, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory (May 7, 1954 - May 7, 2024) organized by the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee in coordination with the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee on April 6. Attending were 163 Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline laborers and relatives of martyrs' families who directly participated in the Campaign from the provinces: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Hai Duong, Hung Yen, Thai Binh , Nam Dinh, Ha Nam, Ninh Binh.

With the spirit of "the whole country joining the battle", 1.2 million Thanh Hoa people provided more than 4,500 tons of rice; 350 tons of food, 2,000 pigs, 350 buffaloes, cows and hundreds of tons of vegetables of all kinds; provided more than 200,000 long-term and short-term laborers, mobilized more than 3,500 bicycles, 1,126 wooden boats of all kinds, 31 cars, 180 ox carts, 42 pack horses, 3 elephants and many other means of transport in 3 campaigns. Along with their efforts to serve the combat mission, many Thanh Hoa children volunteered to join the army to fight alongside the whole country on the battlefields. The people of Thanh Hoa fought bravely, achieved many feats, with many shining examples in the resistance war against French colonialism, such as To Vinh Dien, Truong Cong Man, Lo Van Buong, Tran Duc, Le Cong Khai... Thanh Hoa's position, role and contribution in the resistance war against French colonialism and the Dien Bien Phu campaign deserve the praise and assessment of President Ho Chi Minh: "Now wherever the Vietnamese language goes, the Dien Bien Phu language goes there. Wherever the Dien Bien Phu language goes, the Thanh Hoa people also have a part of the honor". According to the member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Thanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee Do Trong Hung, this is an opportunity to educate the glorious revolutionary historical tradition of the nation, to foster pride in today's generation, especially the young generation, to continue to arouse the spirit of patriotism, belief, and aspiration to contribute of each citizen; to promote the highest strength of national solidarity. On the path to the final victory in the long resistance war against the French colonialists, the Vietnam Fatherland Front played an extremely important role. The invaluable asset that the Vietnam Fatherland Front created during its activities in the sacred resistance war of the nation was to build a great national unity bloc with unparalleled strength. The strength of the Fatherland Front's unity is not only in gathering a large force of the masses, but also in proposing and successfully applying flexible and agile strategies to win over social forces at home and abroad. At the meeting, veteran Duong Van Man, 90 years old, Battalion 188, Regiment 176, Division 316, residing in Yen Cat town, Nhu Xuan district, expressed: "We always keep in mind that as Dien Bien soldiers, as veterans, we must always promote the good qualities and traditions of Uncle Ho's soldiers; well implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State; be exemplary in studying and following Uncle Ho's moral example; and successfully complete all tasks at work. We believe and hope that the young generation will always be proud, remember and promote the glorious traditions of the nation in general and the spirit of Dien Bien Phu victory in particular, dare to think, dare to do, be proactive, creative, and create new miracles in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland."

Sending greetings and respectful sentiments to the revolutionary veterans, heroic Vietnamese mothers, relatives of martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline workers... who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign, speaking at the ceremony, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien affirmed: "Promoting the fine tradition of the nation "when drinking water, remember its source", the Party, State, Army and people have been, are and will do their best to remember the contributions of heroic martyrs, wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, youth volunteers, frontline workers. Do everything possible to partially compensate for the sacrifices and losses of comrades. But no matter how hard we try, we cannot ease the great losses left by the war. The Fatherland and people will forever be grateful to the heroic martyrs, the contributions of you, comrades". The President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee said that the meeting and gratitude program today in Thanh Hoa and in Dien Bien on April 17 is a practical event to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. In the coming time, the Central Emulation and Reward Council will coordinate with the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee to launch the emulation movement "Eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" nationwide, striving to conclude the first phase on April 30, 2025, and the second phase on December 31, 2025 to practically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and welcome the 14th National Party Congress. At the program, Chairman Do Van Chien and leaders of Thanh Hoa province presented meaningful gifts to express gratitude to the relatives of martyrs, Dien Bien soldiers, youth volunteers, and frontline workers who directly participated in the Dien Bien Phu campaign.
