Vacations on luxury yachts, private jets, and stays in mansions previously rented by celebrities are just some of the privileges of working as a domestic helper for the ultra-rich.
Ginger Rose Smith, 27, who lives in Los Angeles, USA, shared her experience of working as a nanny for a Middle Eastern royal family. Living with them gave Smith a clear understanding of "how the richest of the rich live."

One of Smith's most memorable experiences was accompanying her employer's family to Universal Studios Hollywood in the US. They had their own guide and didn't have to queue for rides. And when they rode a ride, no other visitors at the park were allowed to join them. "That day was crazy," Smith recalled this unique experience. Smith has since left her babysitting job. Five years ago, she took the job to earn money during her unpaid internship.
Sami, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, has been working as a maid for a wealthy American family for two years. She enjoys luxurious privileges such as vacations with the family on luxury yachts and private jet travel. Sami says many families bring their nannies along on their expensive vacations because they want someone to help out. Therefore, many maids get to "piggyback" on trips they wouldn't be able to afford even with a lifetime of savings.
Sami shared her cruise vacation on TikTok with the caption "life is good" and attracted over 8 million views. Many people commented that she has a dream job.

Katrina Martin, another domestic helper, frequently shares her glamorous vacations on social media. In a video with over 3.2 million views, Martin admits that her job as a domestic helper has been the most profitable. Her employer's family took her to the Turks & Caicos Islands on a private plane, staying in a villa that "I've never seen anything like it." Martin was stunned by the villa's size and its fame, with staff revealing that stars like singer Drake, Rihanna, and many Victoria's Secret supermodels have stayed there.
Luxury travel is also a privilege enjoyed by 19-year-old nanny Valerie DaBaldo. DaBaldo is a student and works as a nanny during the summer. Thanks to this job, she gets free trips to Greece, Florida, and Long Beach Island in the US.
Besides the trips, working as a nanny for the wealthy also brings in a high income, four times the average salary of other jobs. Many earn between $175,000 and $400,000 a year. According to Elite nannies, a Los Angeles-based company specializing in providing nannies for the wealthy, the employers' requirements aren't overly strict. "They need a nanny with a unique personality, and sometimes being bilingual is an advantage," said a representative from Elite nannies.
