Number one view...
Nestled on the coast at the foot of Son Tra mountain, Man Thai fishing village is one of two ancient fishing villages that miraculously "survived" the stormy wave of urbanization in Da Nang .
The 300-year history of the village's founding has witnessed countless changes from boundaries to names, but Man Thai still retains the lifestyle and activities typical of an ancient coastal village.

Many documents record that Man Thai was formed from migrants from Nga My village (Nga Son, Thanh Hoa ) who migrated along the southern expansion of the dynasties to reclaim land and establish settlements.
Located in a small bay, near the reefs next to the seafood-rich Son Tra peninsula, for generations, the residents of Man Thai village have made a living by fishing.

Having visited and experienced many places in Da Nang many times, but when he came to the coastal city in early August, Mr. Le Nam Hai (a tourist from Ho Chi Minh City) was surprised when he stood in the middle of Man Thai beach.

"Da Nang has 'hot keywords' such as: Son Tra peninsula, My Khe beach..., but few people know that between those two keywords is Man Thai fishing village with beautiful scenery, unique cuisine and a strong historical imprint.
In the sunset, immersing myself in the blue sea water of Man Thai, looking out to Son Tra peninsula to see the statue of Quan The Am (Linh Ung pagoda) and then looking at the modern skyscrapers, to me there is nothing more wonderful...", Mr. Hai shared.

One side looks at Son Tra forest, the other looks at the urban streets, Man Thai fishing village seems to be located between two worlds: one peaceful, wild and one vibrant, modern.

Man Thai beach village is affectionately called "the best view" by tourists. Not every place has a prime location when it is close to the city center, next to My Khe - the most beautiful beach on the planet and close to the biodiverse Son Tra mountain forest - the place known as the "green lung" of Da Nang.

Min Thai - harmony of the past and present
This summer, within the framework of the Enjoy Da Nang 2025 festival, the Da Nang tourism industry has chosen the sandy beach in front of Man Thai fishing village as the space for an art installation with the theme of Fishing Village Story . Inspired by the life of fishermen, 4 art clusters stretching along the beach vividly recreate the memories of the fishing village.

Images of schools of fish, boats sailing through the waves, earthenware jars, baskets, oars, etc., along with the mural garden, have turned the sandy beach of the fishing village into a vivid picture of fishermen's life.

The harmony between the past and present of Man Thai fishing village is a unique feature that not every coastal village in the Central region has. Next to high-rise buildings and bustling streets, the village still maintains a simple lifestyle, of which the morning seafood market is a typical example.
To experience the market, visitors must wake up at 4am and find the sandy beach at the foot of Son Tra mountain.

In the middle of a bustling city like Da Nang, there is still a peaceful fishing village scene, so beautiful it touches the heart.

Arriving at the place with flickering flashlights, hearing people calling each other, the sound of boats coming ashore..., that is where the early market of Man Thai is held. Mothers and sisters wearing conical hats sell fresh shrimp, squid, anchovies, mackerel... The sellers are honest and the buyers are happy because the seafood is both delicious and cheap. The market in the middle of the city is surprisingly simple.

Mr. Huynh Van Muoi, 57 years old, who is knowledgeable and cherishes the heritage of Man Thai fishing village, has devoted his heart and soul to turning his small house by the sea into a special "home museum".
For him, that is a way to retain tourists, so that they not only stop by but also stop and learn more about the fishing village culture.

Over the past year, this place has become a familiar stop for those who love the sea and want to hear stories about the lives of fishermen.
In his house, Mr. Muoi also designed a separate space to preserve the traditional aroma of fish sauce, becoming an unforgettable experience for many guests.
"The wave of urbanization unintentionally 'forgot a part', creating a Man Thai that blends modern and ancient values. As for me, I only contribute a little bit so that people and tourists remember the fishing village," Mr. Muoi confided.
