Báo Quảng Ninh•18/05/2023
During his lifetime, President Ho Chi Minh always paid attention to and followed every step of the province's development and had affection for the miners as well as the people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province.
He visited the land and people of Quang Ninh many times, most of which he visited and worked in Hon Gai Town and Ha Long Bay. In each visit and conversation with the people of Hon Gai Town, Uncle Ho always encouraged and gave thoughtful and profound advice. More than 50 years since Uncle Ho passed away, Quang Ninh province in general and Hon Gai Town - now Ha Long City have developed more and more. During that development journey, Uncle Ho's image and advice are always present in the minds of generations of cadres, party members, and people of all ethnic groups in Quang Ninh province.
We would like to introduce to readers pictures of the places where Uncle Ho visited in the old Hon Gai Town - present-day Ha Long City.
Uncle Ho's first visit to Quang Ninh and Ha Long Bay was a trip to take care of people's and national affairs. That was on March 24, 1946, President Ho traveled by Catalina seaplane from Gia Lam airport to Ha Long Bay to hold talks with the French High Commissioner in Indochina - Admiral Georges Thierry d'Argenlieu on the cruiser Esmille Bertin. The former location of the Hon Gai Town Stadium has now become the center of Ha Long City with many large-scale, modern constructions. From March 29 to 31, 1959, Uncle Ho visited Ha Long Bay, visited the headquarters of Regiment 244, visited Deo Nai mine, visited Tuan Chau island, visited naval ship T254 at Bai Chay military port, and visited Artillery Company 34 on Hon Rong island. The place where Uncle Ho stood and talked with the people of Tuan Chau in the past, now has a stele house built with quotes of Uncle Ho's advice. Now, Tuan Chau is known as the "Golden Spot" of sea tourism in the country, with wonderful scenery, long stretches of white sand, clear blue water... ... and synchronous and modern tourism infrastructure development. On January 21-22, 1962, Uncle Ho and the Soviet Space Hero (formerly) Herman Ti-Top visited the Mining Area, visited Ha Long Bay, and talked with the people of Hon Gai Town. Hero German Ti-Top thanked him and said: "It is a great honor for me". Today, Ti-Top Island has become a destination in the Ha Long Bay tour, attracting many domestic and foreign tourists to visit and swim. Tet At Ty - 1965, Uncle Ho returned to celebrate Tet with the people of Quang Ninh, when Hong Quang area and Hai Ninh province had just merged. On the morning of the first day of Tet, February 2, 1965, Uncle Ho spoke to the people at a large rally in the yard of Hon Gai High School. Photo archive Hon Gai High School is now Hon Gai High School - a school with a long tradition and achievements in teaching and learning in the province. In the school campus, there is a bas-relief recording the scene of the day Uncle Ho visited and talked with the people in the school yard, which is always engraved and preserved by generations of teachers and students of the school.
