Translator Nguyen Van Chien (one of the two translators of the poetry collection) was impressed by the poet's sincerity and love for the nation.

"Kupala writes about the life of ordinary peasants, their work, their joys and sorrows. He does not hesitate to speak out about injustice and oppression, about the miserable situation of the Belarusian people. T

"He is the voice of Belarus, the voice of suffering and hope," said Mr. Chien.

Kupala's poems also impressed Mr. Chien with their abundance of vivid images, metaphors and comparisons. He knew how to convey the beauty of Belarusian nature. Reading his poems, readers felt like they were in a Belarusian forest, listening to the chirping of birds and the rustling of leaves.

Mr. Chien also admired Kupala's depth of thought and philosophical views on life, urging readers to reflect. "Yanka Kupala is not only a poet, he is also a symbol of Belarusian culture. His works have had a profound influence on the development of Belarusian literature and art," Mr. Chien concluded.
