Farmers of Krong No innovate, aiming for comprehensive development

On the afternoon of October 1, the Farmers' Association of Krong No commune (Lam Dong) held the 1st Congress of the Farmers' Association of the commune, term 2025-2030, with the participation of 120 delegates representing nearly 2,000 officials and farmer members in the whole commune.

Overview of the Congress of Farmers' Association of Krong No commune, term 2025 - 2030

Krong No commune was established on the basis of merging the natural area and population of 3 communes: Dak Dro, Tan Thanh and Dak Mam town (old). The whole commune currently has 23 villages, hamlets, and hamlets; 13 ethnic groups living together. Of which, ethnic minorities account for 29.6% of the population.

During the past term, the Commune Farmers' Association has closely followed the direction of the superiors and the political , economic and social tasks of the locality; innovated the method of operation, and built a strong organization. In particular, the Association has enhanced the role and responsibility of farmers in agricultural development, building advanced new rural areas, contributing to the comprehensive and sustainable development of Krong No commune.

The Presidium of the Congress

From 2023 to 2025, the Commune Farmers' Association has admitted 162 members, bringing the total number of members to 1,976. 23 branches in the area have built and used the Association Fund with a total amount of more than 1.1 billion VND. On average, each branch has an amount of 48 million VND, used to support poor farmer members to borrow to develop production and reduce poverty.

Up to now, the material and spiritual life of farmers in the commune has been increasingly improved. The poverty rate has decreased, currently 2.02%. Average income per capita reached 65.5 million VND, an increase of 15.87 million VND compared to 2023. The Commune Farmers' Association has promoted the movement "Farmers compete in production, good business, unite to help each other get rich and sustainably reduce poverty".

Many production and business models that bring high economic efficiency and solve jobs for idle laborers in the locality have appeared and are constantly growing in both scale and output. Typical examples include: The goat breeding model of Mrs. Do Thi Hue's family; the garden-pond-barn model of Mr. Do Van Tam's family in Hamlet 9; the volcanic forest honey model of Van Pham Business Household; the Exano volcanic green-skin grapefruit growing model...

Leaders of the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Krong No commune presented flowers and a banner to congratulate the Congress.

In 3 years, the whole commune has had 1,186 farmer households register to compete in production and business excellence. On average, each year, more than 593 households achieve the title of excellent production and business excellence at all levels. From 2023 to now, the whole commune has eliminated 13 poor households, reducing the number of poor households who are farmer members to 47 households. Some households have escaped poverty and risen to do business effectively...

The commune is currently managing 8 projects with capital from the Provincial Farmers Support Fund with a loan amount of more than 2.1 billion VND for 61 members; coordinating with the Social Policy Bank to entrust poor households and other policy beneficiaries to borrow with a total outstanding loan of more than 41 billion VND with 601 customers still in debt...

Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Duc Han congratulated the achievements that the Commune Farmers' Association has achieved in recent times.

Speaking at the Congress, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial Farmers' Association Nguyen Duc Han commended the achievements of the Commune Farmers' Association in the period 2023-2025. At the same time, he suggested that in the next term, the Association continue to innovate its working methods and improve the quality of branch and group activities.

The Association continues to support members with capital and technology, promote collective economy , develop clean agriculture, combine digital transformation and build smart new rural areas. Thereby, affirming the central and core role in the farmers' movement and building advanced new rural areas with the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Cooperation - Development".

Launching the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association of Krong No commune for the 2025 - 2030 term

The Congress announced the decision of the Provincial Farmers' Association on appointing the Executive Committee of the Farmers' Association of Krong No commune, term I, consisting of 29 comrades; the Standing Committee has 5 comrades. Mr. Ngo Doan Lich, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, was appointed to hold the position of Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Krong No commune for the term 2025-2030. The Congress also consulted to elect a delegation to attend the 1st Congress of the Farmers' Association of Lam Dong province.
