Huu Quoc, the veteran actor in "Brother Overcomes a Thousand Obstacles"
Up to the "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Obstacles" concert on the nights of September 7th and 8th in Ho Chi Minh City, Huu Quoc has participated in this concert 9 times, including the recording session.
His opportunity to perform in this grand show arose because the original program included a segment showcasing the cultures of the three regions of Vietnam: the North with Cheo theater, the Central region with Hue folk songs, and the South with Don Ca Tai Tu (traditional Southern Vietnamese folk music).
Huu Quoc was invited by the organizers to support the Ginger Jam House with their performance of "Da Co Hoai Lang" .
As a true cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) performer, Hữu Quốc is no stranger to Dạ cổ hoài lang . He is also a renowned veteran actor on the city's cải lương stage, so inviting Hữu Quốc was perfectly logical.
With the contribution of Huu Quoc, the performance created a special impression as "Brother Overcomes a Thousand Obstacles" was brought to audiences in many regions across the country by the organizers.
Speaking to Tuoi Tre Online , Huu Quoc said: "With 'Da Co Hoai Lang,' I felt emotional during filming, but performing outdoors in front of tens of thousands of spectators, the feeling of happiness was indescribable."
There were moments that gave me goosebumps when Bang Kieu sang the traditional Vietnamese folk songs, the self-reflections, and in the chorus, the audience, having watched it on television beforehand, knew the lyrics and joined in, crying along with the character on stage."

Huu Quoc vividly remembers the time his brother overcame countless obstacles in Hung Yen ; during a performance, the power went out, and his brother cleverly improvised on stage, captivating the audience with enthusiastic cheers. For him, that is an extremely beautiful memory in his professional career.
Huu Quoc, a versatile artist
Artist Huu Quoc has been working in the profession for several decades, having trained at the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre, and is a favorite student of People's Artist Phung Ha.
From a young age, due to his distinctive voice and appearance, Quoc quickly "aged" on stage, earning high praise from those in the industry for his many excellent elderly roles. Some even called him "Diep Lang 2" because of his numerous roles as elderly characters that won prestigious awards in the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) scene.
To establish his name in the Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) scene as he has today, Huu Quoc has had to make continuous efforts. He diligently researched and learned, enabling him to excel in all three roles: author, director, and actor.
Huu Quoc is also a very charming and tactful MC. He also excels as an organizer and producer. Many organizations trust him to be the general director of programs and game shows related to Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) on television. He has also ventured into theater and currently has many plays performed at the 5B Theater.
Recently, Huu Quoc has been continuously invited to direct major programs such as the Dong Da Festival, the program honoring People's Artist Vien Chau, and the program Con Dao - An Immortal Epic ...
He is also a familiar judge of the Golden Bell Vọng Cổ Singing Competition. With his talent and contributions to the cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) scene, artist Hữu Quốc has been awarded the title of People's Artist by the State.
Huu Quoc said that thanks to his access to professional entertainment technology, he realized that if one knows how to select and incorporate the essence of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) into programs in a reasonable and creative way, Cai Luong can win over young people.
Especially at the Huynh Long Cai Luong Troupe, where he is currently the artistic consultant and director of many sold-out shows.
He said, "Thanks to going out to learn, I've learned how to make plays more engaging and appealing to today's audience. In large-scale scenes, I can also handle them appropriately, avoiding chaotic formations and maximizing the effectiveness of the performance."
