Female student beaten by her classmates until she was "blind and deaf": Just because she was elected group leader?

(Dan Tri) - Van Khanh Commune Police (An Giang Province) has transferred the case file to the Provincial Police Investigation Agency requesting an injury assessment for an 8th grade female student who was beaten by a classmate and had to be hospitalized.

On November 3, the People's Committee of Van Khanh Commune said that the Commune Police had just transferred the case file to the Investigation Police Agency of An Giang Province Police in the case of a female student of Van Khanh Secondary and High School being assaulted to the point of mental panic and hospitalized for many days.

This is the latest move by the locality when the family of the female student who was assaulted requested strict handling of the violent act that happened to their child.

Previously, a video clip circulated on social media recording the scene of an 8th grade female student at Van Khanh Secondary and High School being blocked and severely attacked by 4 female students.

According to the report of the People's Committee of Van Khanh commune, the victim was DTA (a student of class 8/2 at Van Khanh Secondary and High School). The incident arose from conflicts in the class, when TA was elected as the group leader.

However, T., the monitor of class 8/2, disagreed and thought that TA was not worthy because he still talked in class and was not serious.

This group then created a chat group on Zalo and TA sent vulgar messages to the group. Some of the group members forwarded the messages to other members of the class, including T.

T.'s group including T. and 3 other students asked TA to apologize but TA did not agree.

On the afternoon of September 22, T. reported the incident to the homeroom teacher, but the content was that TA had insulted him. The homeroom teacher asked both of them to write a report. After that, TA and T.'s group argued, provoked each other, and then made an appointment to resolve the conflict in front of the school gate.

T.'s group told this incident to some students who were absent from school, outside the school, in order to get them to intervene.

On the morning of September 23, T.'s group of 6 people (including students who had left school) met TA in front of the school gate. There, the group asked TA to apologize to T., but TA did not agree. The two sides then met at an empty lot near the school.

At this land, HL, a member of T.'s group, rushed to fight TA. Two students outside the school also held helmets and attacked TA's head, arms and legs. The incident was intervened by adults. Both sides then dispersed and went home.

However, on the way back, some members of T.'s group continued to chase and beat TA. Even though TA had fallen, the group continued to assault him.

As a result, TA suffered serious injuries and was hospitalized with headaches, tremors, facial swelling and bruising.

Given the seriousness of the incident, the People's Committee of Van Khanh commune intervened, worked with the school and invited relevant parties to resolve the matter.

As a result of the work, TA's family requested the locality to strictly handle the violent behavior of the students involved.

Regarding the incident, the leader of the Commune People's Committee also directed the Commune Police to transfer the file to the Provincial Police Investigation Agency to conduct an injury assessment of TA.
