Ngo Ngoc Gia Han is currently a student of the Faculty of Business Administration, SP Jain University, Mumbai, India. In 2022, she won the Miss Teen International contest.

"Because I was so fascinated by Indian culture, I was determined to win a scholarship to study abroad in this country. When they heard that I was going to India to study, the Miss Universe India program contacted me to host the semi-final and final night of the biggest beauty contest here," Gia Han shared. Gia Han's biggest difficulty was the preparation time and the rather tight schedule. "Luckily, the MC and I worked together well to make the program a great success. During the final night, I had low blood sugar and almost fainted. My co-MC found a box of candy for me to recharge my energy," she said. During the final night, the image of the Vietnamese girl confidently and boldly on stage captivated everyone. Han believes that this is an opportunity for her to cultivate, learn and experience in a new environment, especially to bring the beauty and intelligence of Vietnamese women to a foreign land. The moment that Han remembers the most is when she held the results in her hands, she was extremely nervous just like the contestants. "I was in that state at my competition so I was quite emotional," Han said.

The talented queen

Not only is she Miss Teen International 2022, she also has an extremely impressive list of achievements: member of the Vietnamese delegation attending the 2023 Asian Youth Forum, top 15 of the national CIC 2023 competition, first prize of the national Dash For Impact 2023 competition... Gia Han also won a 90% scholarship from SP Jain University, 80% from VinUni University.

Han said she chose SP Jain University because the program will send students to a country each year to study. Han will visit India, Singapore, Dubai and Australia during her studies. She is an explorer and traveler, so she is very excited about the experiences she will have in her 4 years of youth. To receive an admission letter and a 90% scholarship, each candidate needs to take a test on reading, writing and math skills. After qualifying, the candidate will go through an interview round. She is very proud to have achieved the maximum scholarship for international students. In some subjects, teachers in India always mention Vietnam's economy and ask for Han's perspective. "Teachers say Vietnam is one of the countries that is developing strongly in terms of economy. For business administration, the most important thing is to learn a lot about business and economic knowledge of the world to have a global vision," Han recalled. She also often shares about Vietnamese culture with her friends in India, such as making Vietnamese dishes... Pho and spring rolls are the two dishes that her friends love the most. Han said that the biggest difficulty of studying abroad in India is adapting to the environment. She was lucky to get to know her friends very quickly, so they enthusiastically supported her in her activities. Besides, listening to the pronunciation of the locals is also an issue that needs attention. Han often spends time reading documents before class, listening to the recording of the previous lesson and taking notes... to quickly catch up with her friends. She also spends 1 hour every day in the community room to practice exercises and prepare presentation materials.

According to Han, if you want to win a scholarship, young people must really want to study abroad. That desire will motivate you to try to find suitable options, prepare to participate in extracurricular activities to explore yourself and tell your experiences and lessons learned in essays or interviews. Besides, you need to maintain stability in your studies, find companions, ask for advice from those who have gone before... to make the application process easier. "We have to understand the compatibility between environments to make the best choice," Han advised. Ms. Thai Thi Thanh Thao, a literature teacher at Dinh Thien Ly Secondary and High School (HCMC), said that during the teaching process, not only she but also other teachers were impressed and loved Gia Han because of her enthusiasm, emotional lifestyle and strong spirit of self-study and self-discovery of the female student. "During the Miss Teen International final night, the teachers highly appreciated your smart and sharp answers. I hope Han continues to maintain the passion on the path she has chosen.
