Mount Ngo Son is ablaze with red wildflowers.

(GLO) - In late October, as the Gia Lai plateau enters the dry season, the slopes of Ngo Son mountain (Bien Ho commune) are unexpectedly illuminated by a species of wild flower that turns fiery red. Clusters of climbing flowers embrace the ancient pine trees, dyeing the mountainside a deep red.

These wild climbing flowers grow in the forest, clinging to tall trees and reaching for the sun. Clusters of blossoms spread out brilliantly like phoenix wings on the mountainside. Seen from the Ngo Son fields, the red color adorns the mountainside, signaling the arrival of the forest flower season.

Ngo Son Mountain, also known as Wind Hill, was once a military base during the resistance war. From the mountaintop, the Ngo Son rice fields look like a golden autumn painting, while opposite stands the majestic Chu Nam mountain range, considered the "western roof" of the Pleiku plateau.

Midway up the mountain lies a small lake, also the place where the flowers bloom most profusely, their reflections on the water creating a dreamy scene amidst the mountains and forests.

Mr. Huynh Tan Duong, a resident who has lived at the foot of the mountain since 1968, recounted: This area was once a primeval forest, but after many decades it has been covered with pine forests, becoming a tourist route west of Pleiku, attracting visitors every time the wildflowers bloom.
