In a quick post-match message, President Florentino Perez encouraged the team: “Our spirit never wavers.” The construction tycoon still expressed his determination and confidence in the club’s future under coach Xabi Alonso.
The Real Madrid chief appeared in the stands at MetLife Stadium to watch his team play against PSG. The cameras captured his disappointment throughout the match. Real Madrid suffered a quick defeat, losing 0-3 in just the first 24 minutes.
Over the years, President Floretino Perez has not had a good relationship with the PSG top brass, especially after he “robbed” Mbappe for free from the rich French team. President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has publicly criticized Real Madrid’s approach to this deal on many occasions.

Speaking after the match against PSG, coach Xabi Alonso said: "The feeling is not very good, but we will try to learn from today. PSG has been built for two years by coach Luis Enrique. I have only just taken over Real Madrid, so it will take time, but we will learn from today. The current feeling is not the best.
“We need a real break now. It’s not the beginning of next year, it’s the end of the season. After just three weeks here, I think we can take the positives from this period, and then learn from today.”
