Petrovietnam is ready and urgently responds to storm No. 3

Faced with the complicated developments of storm No. 3 (storm Yagi), the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ) directed units to urgently deploy solutions to be ready and promptly respond to the storm.

Storm No. 3 will enter the Gulf of Tonkin on the night of September 6 and early morning of September 7 with level 13-14, gusting to level 17.

Accordingly, Petrovietnam informed relevant contractors to maintain 24/7 on-duty and command duty, ensure smooth communication, closely monitor the developments of storm No. 3 to promptly respond. Along with that, immediately activate the plan and process to respond to nearby storms, prepare response plans to ensure safety for people and protect the unit's assets; be ready to participate in response, support other units when requested. For offshore oil and gas projects, it is necessary to proactively and urgently organize the evacuation of workers from oil and gas projects in dangerous areas. For units that are owners of dams and hydroelectric reservoirs, it is necessary to proactively inspect and implement measures to ensure the safety of reservoirs and downstream areas; arrange a permanent force ready to operate, regulate and handle situations. In addition, strictly implement regulations on dam safety management, reservoir and inter-reservoir operation procedures to ensure safety for downstream areas when operating flood discharge and power generation. In particular, report and provide full and timely information on reservoirs and reservoir operations in real time to the steering committee and command for natural disaster prevention and control according to regulations. In addition, units implement the reporting regime in emergency situations according to the Group's regulations to promptly take measures to address the consequences of natural disasters.
