On December 14th, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union launched a communication campaign to raise women's awareness in cyberspace with the theme "Connecting 3 Safeties - Mastering the Digital Space".
The campaign aims to spread various messages to raise public awareness and encourage women's action in empowering the digital space, while also calling for increased inter-sectoral coordination in building a safe, equitable, and inclusive online environment.
In her opening remarks at the ceremony, Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Nguyen Thi Minh Huong stated that Vietnam is one of the countries with a rapid pace of digitalization, with nearly 80 million internet users and among the very few countries achieving gender equality in digital skills among young people. These figures are both a source of pride and a great responsibility for us.

With Vietnam's rapid digitalization, cyberspace is becoming a "new front" for gender inequality and violence against women and girls. "In this process, if women and children are not given increased awareness, skills, and a voice in cyberspace, the gender gap and forms of gender-based violence will continue to shift from real life to the digital world—more sophisticated, harder to identify, and with more unpredictable consequences," emphasized the Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union.
Comrade Nguyen Thi Minh Huong stated that, with the responsibility of representing the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese women, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union has been implementing many programs, projects, movements, and campaigns to promote the comprehensive development of women.
Digital transformation has also been identified as one of the two breakthroughs for all levels of the Women's Union during this term. Recently, the Union also launched a campaign encouraging women to participate in the Digital Literacy Movement.
The campaign to raise women's awareness of online safety, themed "Connecting 3 Safeties - Mastering the Digital Space ," was launched as a continuation of those efforts, with three directions aimed at helping women and girls master the digital space: "Safety" - every woman and girl is an informed and responsible internet user; not only protecting themselves but also contributing to building a healthy and safe environment; "Peace of Mind" - the online space is a friendly and humane environment for women and girls; "Social Security" - transforming the digital space into opportunities and leverage for women's entrepreneurial ideas, businesses, and sustainable livelihoods, contributing to ensuring social security.
The communication campaign includes a standardized, diverse, easy-to-understand, and easy-to-apply "Digital Literacy for the Popular" document set; training courses on digital skills and information security; a series of minigames; and creative communication products based on technology platforms.
