On the morning of September 28th, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper held a ceremony to launch the songwriting contest " The Country Filled with Joy."
This meaningful activity aims to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025); contributing to the education of national historical traditions, pride in the homeland, and promoting the image of Vietnam and its people as united, hospitable, prosperous, beautiful, and resilient in the face of all challenges and difficulties.

All Vietnamese citizens and foreign citizens (those with foreign nationality, residing, studying, and working in Vietnam) can submit works to participate in the campaign. Entries should praise and reflect the great achievements that the Party and the people of the whole country have attained in the fields of politics , economics, culture, and society; reflect the revolutionary cultural traditions throughout the history of the formation and development of the country in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular; and praise the efforts to build Ho Chi Minh City into a civilized, dynamic, modern, and compassionate city.

Each author may submit a maximum of 3 works. Entries submitted to the Organizing Committee must include both the music and Vietnamese lyrics, along with a CD recording of the song or an MP3/MP4 file. Entries must be original works, not previously published in any form, and free from copyright disputes. The Organizing Committee will not consider or award prizes to works that copy or imitate the ideas, melodies, or lyrics of other authors, both domestic and international.
The prize structure includes 1 first prize (100 million VND), 1 second prize (50 million VND), 2 third prizes (30 million VND each), and 3 consolation prizes (10 million VND each).

The contest is accepting entries from now until December 30, 2024. The preliminary and final rounds will take place in early 2025.
The awards ceremony and music night showcasing the winning songs are scheduled to be held in April 2025, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
In addition, the Organizing Committee will select 1 to 3 songs from the preliminary round to be performed at the 30th Mai Vàng Awards ceremony, tentatively scheduled for January 2025. Furthermore, the songs participating in the contest will be featured on social media platforms and in publications of the Người Lao Động newspaper.

On this occasion, the Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper honored People's Artist Ta Minh Tam and People's Artist Thoai Mieu with the Mai Vang Award of Gratitude. These are two veteran singers and artists in the fields of music and Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera), who have made many contributions of talent, skill, and artistic creativity to the national culture and arts.
