Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee works on administrative unit arrangement in Quy Chau

On the afternoon of April 4, the Working Group to review, research, and orient the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and build a 2-level local government model of the Provincial People's Committee, headed by the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An, had a working session with Quy Chau district on the orientation of building a 2-level local government model.

In Quy Chau district, the delegation inspected the construction progress of the district stadium. The project started in December 2023 and is expected to be completed in April 2025. The stadium covers an area of 4.5 hectares, has a 3,000-seat grandstand, and costs VND28 billion.

The working group inspected the construction project of the Museum of Western Ethnic Groups.

The delegation also inspected the construction project of the Museum of Western Ethnic Groups in Nghe An with an investment of 20 billion VND, invested by the Department of Culture and Sports , expected to be completed in May 2025.

At the meeting, Quy Chau district reported to the delegation on the socio -economic development situation of the district. Accordingly, the budget revenue in the area reached more than 13.8 billion VND, equivalent to over 64% of the provincial estimate and 33% of the estimate assigned by the District People's Council. The district also had 9 targets meeting the progress of the estimate assigned by the District People's Council.

After listening to the proposed plans for arranging commune-level administrative units presented by the district, the leaders of the Department of Home Affairs and members of the working group discussed and oriented the arrangement of administrative units at all levels and built a 2-level local government model according to the latest conclusions and instructions of the Central Government; especially proactively building a suitable name plan for the new commune, arranging a convenient working headquarters for the people and local authorities; building a way to get consensus from voters.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Bui Thanh An delivered a concluding speech at the meeting.

On behalf of the working delegation, comrade Bui Thanh An acknowledged that Quy Chau has expressed concerns about new development areas of the district, expanding urban space, and developing tourism in the area.

However, in the immediate future, the district needs to urgently develop a reorganization plan in accordance with the direction of Conclusion 137, do a good job of ideological work for cadres and people when merging and forming new communes, tighten discipline and responsibility, not to interrupt work during the process of reorganizing administrative units at all levels, and resolutely speed up the progress of housing construction for poor households in the area.
