Overview of the working session
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son gave an overview of the socio -economic development situation of Tay Ninh province after the merger, and emphasized the potentials and outstanding advantages in attracting investment.
Tay Ninh has a strategic location, is the gateway for trade between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta provinces, has 4 international border gates, 1 river port and a border of about 368km with Cambodia. The traffic infrastructure is increasingly complete with the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong expressway, Ring Road 3, Ring Road 4 and regional connecting routes, creating favorable conditions for the circulation of goods, developing the border gate economy, especially the Moc Bai Border Gate Economic Zone.
According to the planning until 2030, with a vision to 2050, Tay Ninh has 59 industrial parks and 82 industrial clusters with a total area of 21,372 hectares of industrial land. Currently, the province has established 46 industrial parks with a total area of over 14,500 hectares, of which 32 industrial parks are eligible to receive investment, with an occupancy rate of nearly 70%.
In addition, the province also has 3 border economic zones including Moc Bai, Xa Mat and Long An with a total planned area of 68,561 hectares. The economic growth rate in the first 9 months of 2025 reached 9.52%, showing that there is still a lot of room for development, ready to welcome and accompany investors.
Regarding cooperation with Japan, the leader of the Department of Industry and Trade of Tay Ninh province informed that Japan is currently the 4th largest investor out of more than 40 countries and territories with projects in Tay Ninh, with 176 projects and a total registered capital of more than 1.26 billion USD. The projects mainly operate in the fields of mechanical engineering - machine manufacturing, production - assembly of electronic components, processing of agricultural and aquatic products, production of animal feed, food processing, garments, etc.
In the labor sector, from 2020 to August 2025, the whole province sent 6,343 workers to work abroad, of which Japan accounted for 68.4% (4,337 workers), mainly working in the industrial, mechanical, food processing, construction and agricultural sectors.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Okabe Mitsutoshi expressed his impression of Tay Ninh province's development potential and open investment attraction policy. He emphasized that the province's creation of favorable conditions, removal of difficulties and listening to opinions of Japanese enterprises operating in the locality are important factors to strengthen trust and encourage more new investors. JETRO is committed to accompanying and connecting Japanese enterprises with Tay Ninh province, contributing to promoting the increasingly developing cooperative relationship between the two sides.
Representatives of the province's departments and branches directly discussed and answered questions of interest to the JETRO delegation, such as tax policies, investment incentives, master planning, human resource training, and areas the province is prioritizing to attract investment, such as high technology, artificial intelligence, creative recycling, and green economy.

Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son affirmed that Tay Ninh always strives to shorten administrative procedures, remove difficulties for businesses; regularly organizes quarterly business dialogues, including thematic dialogues with Japanese businesses once a year. The province focuses on ensuring political stability, social order and safety, investing heavily in regional transport infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for goods transportation, and reducing costs for businesses.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee thanked JETRO for its attention and informed that from November 16 to 22, Tay Ninh province will organize a working delegation to promote investment and labor in Japan, led by the Provincial Party Secretary. He asked JETRO to support the province in arranging a meeting with JETRO leaders in Tokyo, and invited JETRO and its members to attend the Tay Ninh Investment Promotion Conference held at the Vietnamese Embassy in Tokyo on November 19.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his belief that the cooperative relationship between Tay Ninh province and JETRO will become increasingly strong, effective and develop strongly in the coming time./.
