After listening to the report from the leaders of Samsung E&A Company, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha emphasized that the issue of centralized water supply for the Mekong Delta has been included by the Government in the strategy, plan, and projects for regional development. The Government welcomes and highly appreciates investment projects in this field.

However, centralized water supply projects must ensure reasonable investment costs and should be considered in parallel with other irrigation options such as building dams and reservoirs to distribute water resources appropriately.

During construction, the water supply pipeline system needs to be designed to integrate with the overall infrastructure development, including transportation, water supply, electricity, and other engineering works, especially when constructing underground pipelines across newly built roads; ensuring aesthetics and safety for waterway and road traffic...

Thanking the Deputy Prime Minister for taking the time to meet, Kim Deawon, Deputy General Director of Samsung E&A, said that Samsung E&A is currently operating strongly in the industrial and environmental sectors, possessing many advanced technologies for treating domestic wastewater, with underground systems above ground for public works.

The Hau River raw water supply project aims to supplement surface water from upstream, gradually replacing groundwater sources that cause subsidence, while ensuring water for domestic and industrial use, adapting to climate change and saltwater intrusion in the Ca Mau peninsula. The project has a designed capacity of approximately 600,000 m3/day in the initial phase, with a total investment of about 6,000 billion VND for the water pipeline.

In addition, Samsung E&A also expressed interest in several domestic wastewater treatment projects in the Mekong Delta, Dong Nai, and Ho Chi Minh City...
