The competition - sports festival took place in 3 days (from November 17 to 19) with the participation of 6 teams: Quang Tri, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City and An Giang. The competition contents included: Multiple choice (combat readiness, ship command, training advice, politics , ship tactics, navigation), tactics - sailing and swimming.

In his opening speech, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia highly appreciated the coordination of the Navy, military regions, agencies, units and localities in the preparation work; at the same time, he acknowledged the efforts of the forces that focused on training, ensuring safety and comprehensively completing all aspects of service work for the competition and sports festival.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia emphasized: The implementation of the Project "Building a permanent militia fleet to participate in protecting sea and island sovereignty in the new situation" is of important significance, contributing to realizing the Party and State's policies on the strategy of sustainable development of the marine economy associated with protecting sea and island sovereignty. From October 2021 to now, ships of the permanent militia fleet have taken turns coordinating patrols and being on combat readiness in the Truong Sa area, DK1 Platform and the Southwest sea; participating in combating IUU fishing, rescuing and saving at sea, creating a fulcrum for fishermen to go offshore and maintain traditional fishing grounds.

Along with that, the military regions have coordinated with the Navy, Border Guard, and Coast Guard to closely and systematically direct the training and operations of the Militia and Self-Defense Force; participated in drills and successfully completed assigned tasks. Localities and units have paid attention to investing in facilities, accommodation, and anchorage areas, creating conditions for the Force to operate effectively.

Overview of the contest.

In order for the 2025 competition and sports festival to achieve high results, the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army requested that the Organizing Committee prepare carefully; the judges work objectively and impartially; the participating forces strictly comply with the regulations, promote the spirit of solidarity, honesty and confidence in the competition. Based on the results of the competition and sports festival, the competent authorities need to continue to advise and propose solutions to improve the quality of training, force building, management, command and technical assurance for the Militia and Self-Defense Force.
