Quang Tri market management determined to fight and prevent counterfeit goods

(Chinhphu.vn) - According to the Market Management Department of Quang Tri province, during the peak period at the end of the year, the unit continues to proactively detect, combat, prevent, and promptly and strictly handle acts of buying, selling, transporting, and storing counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights in the area.

Market Management Team No. 7 disseminates the law to production and business organizations and individuals.

According to the Quang Tri Provincial Market Management Department, the Department conducts inspection and control work with a focused, key, effective manner, ensuring strict compliance with the spirit and content of Directive No. 13/CT-TTg dated May 17, 2025 on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods and Official Dispatch No. 82/CD-TTg on continuing to promote the peak of the fight to prevent and repel smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and infringement of intellectual property rights. The implementation process must be public, transparent, in compliance with legal regulations and not affect or hinder normal production, business and transportation of goods. At the same time, resolutely say no to negativity, not cover up, assist, or protect the buying, selling, transporting, and storing of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights.

In addition, the Department also promotes propaganda and legal education to raise awareness of compliance among organizations, individuals in production, business and consumers. Strengthening inspection in the e-commerce environment, strictly and promptly handling violations of the law on production and trade of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods that infringe intellectual property rights is also a necessary and important task.

According to Market Management Team No. 7, Quang Tri Market Management Department, initially the propaganda work and awareness of business households in the area have had positive changes. Many households that were previously not interested in applying for a license have now proactively completed their documents to be licensed according to regulations.

Up to now, after two months of legal propaganda (August and September 2025), nearly 100 tobacco and alcohol retail establishments have been granted licenses. About 50 businesses are completing related procedures to request local authorities to grant licenses. The situation of tobacco and alcohol trading without licenses has been gradually limited. At the same time, Market Management Team No. 7 also included the content of inspecting and handling a number of violations, restoring order in tobacco and alcohol trading activities. Restricting the trading of smuggled and unknown origin tobacco and alcohol is included in the plan to carry out tasks in the coming time.

In the coming time, the Quang Tri Provincial Market Management Department will strengthen the management of the area, grasp the situation, monitor and collect information on subjects, methods, tricks of operation, locations of hiding evidence of organizations and individuals trading, transporting, gathering and storing goods, focusing on key and prominent items such as: cosmetics, food, fake drugs, fake functional foods, fashion products...

At the same time, deploy professional measures to detect, inspect and strictly handle violations in the transportation, storage, and trading of counterfeit goods, infringement of intellectual property rights... or taking advantage of e-commerce activities, social networking platforms such as e-commerce platforms, sales websites, Facebook, Tiktok to commit violations.
