- On the afternoon of April 28, the Steering Committee for the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses and the development of social housing in the province (SC) held a conference to assess the situation and results of the implementation of tasks in the area. Comrade Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Head of the SC chaired the conference.
Attending the conference were comrades: Doan Thi Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ho Tien Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; comrades of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, members of the Steering Committee and leaders of districts and cities.
According to the conference report, Resolution 188-NQ/TU dated October 25, 2024 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on implementing the Program to support the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for households with revolutionary contributions, policy families, poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters and climate change in the province, the whole province has 2,472 households eligible for support, of which 951 new houses were built and 1,521 houses were repaired. To date, 951/951 newly built houses and 1,232/1,521 repaired houses have been completed and put into use.
According to Decision No. 270/QD-UBND dated January 24, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee on approving the results of synthesizing the need to eliminate temporary houses and dilapidated houses for meritorious people, poor households, near-poor households, households affected by natural disasters, climate change and other subjects needing support to improve housing in the province, as of April 26, the whole province has completed the construction and repair of 1,559/4,405 households, reaching 35.4% of the set target.
As for mobilizing social resources to join hands in eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses, by April 23, the whole province had mobilized more than 220 billion VND (including cash and goods). From this source, more than 187 billion VND was allocated to districts and cities.
At the conference, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying a number of issues related to the following contents: progress of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses; coordination between a number of relevant departments, branches and districts during the implementation process; the issue of reviewing beneficiaries; the mechanism for allocating support funds, etc.
In his concluding remarks at the conference, the Provincial Party Secretary and Head of the Steering Committee stated: In recent times, the Steering Committees at all levels have been active and proactive in implementing solutions to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the area. However, the implementation has not been uniform among districts and cities, which has partly affected the overall progress.
To make the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the area more effective in the coming time, he suggested that Party committees, authorities at all levels, agencies and units continue to promote propaganda about the purpose and meaning of the program to raise awareness, create unity and synchronization to join hands in implementation.
He emphasized: Steering Committees of districts and cities need to uphold their sense of responsibility, heads of agencies and units need to focus on leadership, direction, and determination to complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses according to the set schedule.
Departments and branches, based on their functions and tasks, continue to monitor the situation, strengthen coordination to urge implementation; Party committees, authorities at all levels, agencies and units promote the mobilization of social resources to increase resources to support the work of eliminating temporary and dilapidated houses in the province.
