Princess Ngoc Hoa followed her husband to the land of cherry blossoms and lived a happy and fulfilling life. She was also affectionately called "Anio San" by the people here.
The play is directed by conductor Honna Tetsuji - music director and principal conductor of the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra; composer Tran Manh Hung is the music composer; director, opera singer Oyama Daisuke is the director, scriptwriter, lyricist (Japanese); composer Ha Quang Minh is the lyricist (Vietnamese).
The role of Princess Anio is played by two Vietnamese actresses, Dao To Loan and Bui Thi Trang. Meanwhile, the role of businessman Araki Sotaro is played by two Japanese male artists, Kobori Yusuke and Yamamoto Kohei.

The interesting thing is that the Japanese artists had to make an effort to learn the language to sing in Vietnamese throughout the play.
Speaking at the press conference, Ms. Phuong Hoa - Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that this play was performed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan:
"Through creativity in culture, art, music, painting, language, lyrics, and joint stage works between artists of the two countries, it is a celebration of the common values of our two peoples."
The opera Princess Anio will premiere at the Hanoi Opera House on September 22, 23 and 24, then be performed in Hung Yen, Hoi An and Ho Chi Minh City.
