Ronaldo shows power at Al Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo directly asked the Al Nassr board to recruit Robert Lewandowski from Barcelona at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Lewandowski is likely to leave Barca in the summer of 2026.

With his growing influence at the Saudi club, CR7 wants to pair up with his Polish counterpart, promising to bring destructive power to Al Nassr in their conquest of the Saudi Pro League and Asia. According to sources from Fichajes, Ronaldo – who has extended his contract until 2027 with a huge salary of 237 million euros/year and 15% ownership stake – actively intervenes in Al Nassr's transfer policy.

The Portuguese superstar considers Lewandowski the "perfect piece" to add firepower to the attack, taking Al Nassr to new heights. Lewandowski, 37, is in the final months of his contract with Barcelona (expiring in June 2026). Although he has maintained impressive form with 4 goals in just 9 matches this season, Barca considers Lewandowski to be on the decline of his career peak. His high salary is also a burden, so the Catalan club decided not to renew.

Previously, Gulf Times revealed that in the new contract until 2027, Ronaldo requested the right to intervene in the transfer at Al Nassr. This request was later approved by the Saudi Arabian owners. Immediately, CR7 showed his influence last summer.

Ronaldo had asked Al Nassr to abandon their attempts to sign two Premier League stars, Liverpool's Luis Díaz and Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli. The Saudi club then signed CR7's compatriot Joao Felix. Ronaldo wanted to show his leadership on and off the pitch and was actively involved in the club's transfer plans.
