Shorten the time for issuing, reissuing and exchanging driving licenses

The Prime Minister has just issued Decision No. 1891/QD-TTg approving the plan to reduce and simplify administrative procedures related to production and business activities under the management of the Ministry of Public Security in 2025.

Accordingly, the decision was made to cut and simplify administrative procedures related to production and business activities in three areas: Electronic identification and authentication; immigration management; and ensuring traffic order and safety.

For the procedure of issuing a Certificate of Eligibility for Electronic Authentication Services Business, the processing time is reduced from 46 days to 31 days. The procedure of changing a Certificate of Eligibility for Electronic Authentication Services Business is reduced from 40 days to 27 days. The procedure of re-issuing a Certificate of Eligibility for Electronic Authentication Services Business is reduced from 3 days to 2 days.

Along with that, the time to process procedures for issuing a driving license is reduced from 7 working days to 4.5 working days (a reduction of 2.5 working days); the time to process procedures for exchanging driving licenses is reduced from 5 working days to 3.5 working days (a reduction of 1.5 working days). The time to process procedures for re-issuing driving licenses is also reduced from 5 working days to 3.5 days (a reduction of 1.5 working days).
